Who Did Your Readings During Ceremony

In our circles, only the officiant does the readings, not guests. Not everyone wants the attention of public speaking and it keeps the ceremony flowing without any breaks.

We decided on having my future sister in law do the reading.

We’re having family members and friends do the readings. Our officiant actually recommended it as a way to keep people interested vs her speaking the entire time. I asked my SIL to do one of the readings - she’s an actress so super comfortable speaking in front of crowds.

I am having one of my bridesmaids do the reading. In most weddings I’ve attended, someone else besides the officiant did the reading.
