Obviously I'm using fake name. But seriously. Announcing Mr & Mrs John Smith? Since when did I become my husband's first name??? Lol. This thought just totally popped out of nowhere. I understand you get married & the usual is to take your FH last name. indeed, when we finally get married, I will...

Obviously I'm using fake name. But seriously. Announcing Mr & Mrs John Smith? Since when did I become my husband's first name??? Lol. This thought just totally popped out of nowhere. I understand you get married & the usual is to take your FH last name. indeed, when we finally get married, I will gladly be Mrs. Weber. But why is it the typical thing/old fashioned thing, is to announce the woman with the man's first name. Makes me want to say, excuse me I have a first name too!!!

I've already had in mind, when we get announced, We will be Mr & Mrs Weber. That is all

I feel the same way. Yes, now we are married, and yes we have the same last name, but I am still my own person. We spoke with our officiant and DJ prior to the wedding and ask that we be introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Timothy & Chelsea Cox. Besides, it was kinda neat to hear my new name instead of just his name as its always been Smiley smile

I hate that!! I will definitely be telling our DJ to announce BOTH of our first names!
