Who has had lash extensions?

Abby, on June 20, 2019 at 10:16 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 19
I am seriously considering have lash extensions for wedding. I don’t use much makeup but I normally do some mascara and a lip. I have pretty long lashes anyway but I’ve heard this adds a little umph so that I could swim and hike and my lashes still look good with no running mascara. How have your experiences been?

I had them for my wedding. Got them done Monday and my wedding was Saturday. Because I had a destination wedding I had some previous event and make up done as well as out in the sun which made a lot of them fall and create some holes in between so the day of my wedding I had to also wear fake lashes. Didn’t see the point of getting the lashes but that was just my case. Mind you I was very careful, I didn’t wet them or wash my face full water around the area, I really took care of them. Now after I went on the honeymoon I was no longer careful I wanted to enjoy the beach in full and wash my face the right way so it looked very odd to have some and not others. I tried to remove it softly with oil and it ruined a lot of my natural lashes. Something to consider.

I got them and regretted it, they ruined my real lashes and it took many months to get them back to normal.

I’ve always been weary because I’ve heard they damage your natural lashes. Based on the PPs experiences, I think I’ll just stick with my plan to wear false lash on the day of. Good luck!

Ive been weary too! I was just trying to think of a no fuss no worry solution. It’s a DW and I’ll be in Hawaii for two weeks we are doing lots of hikes and such and we have some friends and family tagging along for some stuff and there are some photographers in the group. So there will be a lot of pics and a lot of candid pictures. So I’m wanting to look my best. Sounds like I need to just find a good waterproof and get a simple makeup routine down😊

Sounds like a lot of fun! One of my friends moved to HI a couple years ago and posts the most amazing pictures- I hope you have a blast!
I love Too Faced too, I just rarely splurge so much on make-up, wedding is definitely a good excuse 😉.

Thank you soo much!! I am soo excited! I feel like I’ve got so much to do my check list is freakin ridiculous lol!
I will look into that! I own barely any makeup so I’ll be splurging on a few things to actually have some items in the bag for the trip!! Thanks for the tip 😄❤️

Have you thought about getting a lash lift and/or tint? It’s basically a perm for your lashes and just gives them a little more umph. It also lasts up to two months and they’re not as high maintenance as extensions. And they’re less expensive!

I don’t really need a lash lift as mine are already pretty curled and they are pretty dark as well. I don’t wanna pay money and it not look any different.
Thank you for the idea though!!!

I used to do eyelash extensions regularly and loved them. If they are done properly they really shouldn’t ruin your natural lashes.

I'm a big fan of Tarte's Lights, Camera, lashes, and Lancome Hypnose Drama. I have short, thin lashes and these actually make it look like I have lashes, so one someone that already had full lashes, they would be even better!

Are those fake lashes? I am trying to stay away from those I think as I’m afraid they’d fall off in the water. I’m not 100% sure though. Do they look natural? I am just going for a really natural look😁

Nope! They are high-end mascara brands Smiley smile So they would just enhance the lashes you already have!

I'd try them now to see how you like them. I've had them 5 or so times over the past 6 years, I'm just not a fan. I love the look week 1, but I hate the maintenance of going back. I HATE how they look when a few start to fall out and I was constantly brushing them since the heavier ones would flip over and stab me in the eye. I also really like to wash my face, and I had to be super gentle and use special products when I had extensions. I'm doing a lash lift & tint for our wedding and honeymoon, and wearing falsies on the wedding day.

I think I’ve just decided against them. I would rather wear nothing or mascara than I would have my lashes look rough. Thanks😊

My friend had them done recently, and I honestly couldn't tell a difference, but she seemed to be happy with them. I don't know anything about the process, like if you can do more or less extension? I did false lashes for my wedding and they photographed beautifully. After the first 15 minutes or so, I didn't notice them.

I’ve seen some that look great and others that don’t. I have used lashes before I really don’t want them on my wedding day since it’s at the beach and I might do a trash the dress. I mainly just wanted something simple that I didn’t have to think about! Thanks for the advice😁😊
