Who has used Zola for Registry?

mmbrake28, on April 23, 2018 at 10:40 AM Posted in Registry 0 10
So I'm in the process of finalizing our wedding registry. We've been using Amazon, Crate & Barrel, and Zola. However, I really LOVE the aesthetic of Zola and how you can see each picture in a pretty decent size. I just love the overall look of it. I downloaded the "Add to Zola" little feature button onto laptop, and was curious if anyone has ever used it, or how the process was for a guest? Because I was thinking of using it to merge my other registers all onto one Zola account. Just because I like things condensed and pretty looking, lol. Or maybe that's a bad idea....looking for suggestions.

With the "Add to Zola" option, from my understanding, you basically just use the picture of whatever it is you're registering for, and then it will create a link to go to the actual site to purchase? So the price is still the same. Is this all correct?

Thanks in advance!!

I am using Zola! The plus side is that its super convenient, ships really fast, and guests don't have to worry about bringing gifts to the wedding since they come straight to your home. They have nice stuff such as kate spade and a good checklist to go through so you register everything but for me personally, we've owned our home for almost two years so while we did upgrade our dishes and coffee maker and a few other things, I felt like Zola didnt have tons of options if you already have a lot of home items. Some of the fun stuff or home decor is overpriced compared to say Target or Amazon. I started with just Zola and had about 8ish presents purchased, then about two months ago my sister convinced me to get an amazon registry, since adding that i've had that i had 28 presents purchased from amazon and 1 from Zola lol.

But I havent used the add to zola feature, because I believe that just actually gives you money on zola for that gift amount that you can deposit to your account to go buy on the website seperately, it doesnt actually purchase it and send it to your home automatically like the gifts on the website, but i could be wrong!

in summary lol, I like zola! but i am glad my sister convinced me to add Amazon in addtion

Yes I think Amazon is totally consumer friendly and will definitely get more people to purchase things through it's convenience! So I'll totally keep that one! I just love the unique items on Zola like you mentioned. I tested the feature out by adding these wine glasses from my Crate and Barrel registry using the add on feature....not sure how I feel about it. In one sense its visually appealing and combines my crate and barrel and Zola registry into one location, but I'm not sure if it makes the process harder for guests to purchase....hmm.

I also don't know how well the updating would work if guests purchased through Crate & Barrel....would Zola be notified and take that gift off or gray it out? I'm not sure how that would work. Might just stick with 3 registries but I really wanted it to condense it to 1 or 2 :/

I think that 3 registries is nice! i totally get what you mean about how it looks and condensing but sometimes people see more options as a good thing!

Hi! When your guest clicks through to Crate & Barrel to buy the wine glasses for you, the item then becomes marked as purchased. Your guest also receives an email asking them to confirm if they purchased the item for you. If for whatever reason they didn't, the item goes back on your registry. If they did, the item stays marked as purchased? This is also good in case they go in-store to buy a gift for you, they can manually mark it as purchased. Does that make sense?

I had started one but I had never heard of it and didn't find things I wanted to add to it. Everyone knows about Amazon so I switched over to mostly that.

If you are combining registries, you should test the syncing. I tried to make a unified registry (it was on myregistry.com not zola) and it wasn't updating properly when I added or removed from the original registries so I had to delete it. I didn't want a guest to buy something for me from target.com and then someone else to buy the same item from myregistry.com.

Following this thread for Zola info. I planned to use their registry feature because of the fact that you can add stuff from wherever. Amazon is just too much craziness for me.

I used Zola and Crate and Barrel and I’d say 80% of gifts came from Crate and Barrel. I think people are just more comfortable because they know that name...
