Who is in charge of the wedding budget? You or your fiancé(e)??

He is in charge, he is the bigger contributor and I trust his judgement completely. Plus, he is the bigger spender - if it was up to me it would be courthouse and dinner - JUST THE TWO OF US!

My mom, dad and I (they are helping financially).

My parents are graciously paying for the wedding but we are both making sure we don't go over.

Mainly my dad and us. My dad is helping financially so a lot of times, before agreeing to a price a vendor gave us, I talk to my dad first.

100% me. I'm much better at planning and sticking to a budget. If it was up to him he'd just be booking things all willy nilly and then being like oh crap we are over budget lol. I am in charge of the wedding budget and our normal budget lol

Haha! I tried to stay on top of it. This was H first marriage and he wanted the big party so I tried to keep the budget reasonable. It failed miserably to the point that I only cared about if we could still afford to live than we were fine.

We're paying for it our selves, but we've both been TERRIBLE at staying on budget. I think we're pretty set now, she's better at asking "is that in our budget" but then she tends to say "ok, well, we can probably still do it".

My parents are paying for the venue and the big things, and I guess I've been directing the funds for the smaller things.

I'm good with finding deals on things, and staying within our budget. But, he is much better at saving (and making) money than I am.

As crazy as this sounds we don't really have a budget. We're just saving and going with the flow as much as possible.

We are both in charge of it. We set it together, discuss all expenses, etc. I am the one who updates the tracker.

We both sat down and looked at the numbers and figured out what our budget was. But he gives me the go each month and tells me when I can splurge and order or make a payment to something. He and I have similar tastes so he said I do the decorating and he will just swipe the card!

I think we're both in charge. We knew the price of something and agreed on it before committing.

We've been pretty much the same way. We will talk about things and agree on how much we want to spend on certain areas, but we decided a range we wanted to be around when we started and have just tried our best to stick to it.

I did create a spreadsheet, though, and I catalog all of our expenses.

It also helps that my FILs have graciously offered to contribute a set amount. It will likely be enough to cover the catering, alcohol, security, photography, and even some decor. They are also hosting the RD.

I am definitely better at sticking to a budget and being more organized. We still ended up going over due to some unforseen circumstances, but we are not in a terrible situation with it.

We sat down and figured out a budget first thing and we have talked and decided every detail together so far. This will really be OUR day.
