Next Question: Whose parents are more involved in the planning? Your parents or your fiancé(e)'s?

Or start from the beginning here: You or your fiancé(e)?

I'm doing all the spending since its inky my mom and I on the account but he is very budget cautious. He thinks our budget of $10k is too high even as he is a very simple guy

We very much work together on our budget so I would say both. We both have a hard time spending money on stuff we might want but not need- even if we have the money and we know we do!

We're both money-conscious, but I do more of the budgeting and spreadsheets and researching along the way when it comes to wedding planning.

    He is.

My parents are paying for the bulk of the wedding, at their insistence (as they did the same for my twin sister), but my parents aren't the type to get involved. They have given us the money (the total sum of what my sister's wedding cost), to do with as we wish, and anything left over is ours to keep. Therefore while my attitude is 'well we have this, so let's spend it', his is more 'but we don't need to spend $$$$ on stationery, when we can spend $$ on it instead', because I know he's keen for us to have money left over for our future. And I know deep down inside, he's right.

I handle the money matters so he mostly just cruises along with whatever I say the budget it. He's not great at money, but I love him anyway.

Definitely him. I’m like, it’s fine. But he needs a reality check on how much stuff actually costs. He thinks everything should be basically free.
