My uncle is going to be our officiant. Traditionally in my culture your uncles are supposed to guide you through any major milestones in your life and it’s just a small nod to my culture.

We had my cousin to officiate our wedding bc she is good at public speaking, funny and down to earth. She was hilarious and she made the wedding relaxed.

I put a quote in that really perfectly describes how our relationship started and we’ll be writing our own vows to each other but the last bit of each vow to each other will be the same. “ I promise to be the wife/husband of your days, the companion of your heart and the friend of your life. A friend that I have known for years. She started being an officiant a few years ago, I am so happy to have someone I know doing this. Makes it more special to me.

We are asking my Uncle to officiate, it was my FH idea. I like the idea of someone who knows us doing it.

We thought about asking a friend or family member, but in the end, we couldn't think of anybody. In the end, we hired someone we found here on WeddingWire. She ended up becoming our friend and was probably our most flexible vendor when it came time to reschedule due to the pandemic. She even offered to go ahead and marry us in a private ceremony and then come back and do our big ceremony later at no additional charge.
