Who receives a thank you card after the wedding?

Jennifer, on September 17, 2021 at 2:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
We get married next weekend! I’m wondering who receives a thank you card after the wedding? Is it everyone you invited or only those who actually attend, plus those who didn’t come that sent gifts? I already sent some thank you’s out to those we received gifts from but after the wedding I was hoping to use a wedding pic to make thank you’s to send out. Are we able to wait a month after the wedding to send out thank you’s once our pictures arrive?

Thank you!

I'm not sure if this is right but I'm only sending thank you cards to people who send gifts or bring cards. People that don't bring a gift will be thanked for showing up by the free food and drinks I provide.

Everyone who on sent a gift/card. Some circles also thank all guests who showed up for taking the time and expenses to get there.

Everyone who brought or sent a gift/card. Waiting a month is fine. I’d say wait no more than 2-3 months. Ask your photographer if you can get 1 sneak peek photo of the 2 of you that you could use for your thank you’d. Ours said they normally do this

Hi ! We send thank you cards to everyone involved in the wedding - all those who came, and those who send us gifts.

Since (nearly) everyone had to travel to get to our wedding, we sent thank you notes to everyone who attended as well as everyone who sent/brought gifts. Thank you notes should be sent out within 6-8 weeks after the receipt of the gift - so if you've already received gifts, you should go ahead and send notes rather than waiting (besides it'll make your life so much easier not to have the backlog of thank you notes to write). You can send thank yous with a wedding picture, but remember that most people are going to throw them in the trash - regardless of them having your wedding picture on there.

My husband and I sent thank you cards to everyone who sent a gift and then about a month or two later we received our thank you cards from our photographer that had a picture of us and a thank you for the well wishes message and we sent this to all guests who sent a gift and didn’t send a gift and our virtual guests.

Anyone who goes to the wedding gets a thank you card. Only sending one to those who gave you a gift seems tacky. It means you're not thankful to people who took time out of their day, got dressed up, and maybe traveled to come celebrate your wedding.
