Who said it? - "We have to invite all of my cousins"

FMIL!!!!!!

This is a huge discussion when drafting the guest list. FMIL told her cousins they were invited before they were even on the list and then after I told her we were running out of space, she told the cousins to all leave their husbands at home because we can't afford them. *face palm*. Seriously so embarrassing.. Needless to say, the invites were addressed to the couple, not only the wife, and our guest list grew by 20 people because of it.

My dad! When I was venue shopping and telling him we were keeping it small, he said that he was planning on taking the whole family!! It took a while, but he finally understood. I hope. I’m starting to find out about some “surprises” so it’s a little worrying what will show up come wedding day...

Me! Well I do not have that many cousins so it was a must on my side.

We almost invited all of FH, but really they were is dad's cousins. FH then decided to nix the idea because we only see some of them like once or twice a year.

FH .... I have 3 people from my family coming to our 125 person wedding.

It was me. I'm an only child and am close with a lot of my cousins, and even with some of my mom's cousins. H has 5 sisters and 3 stepbrothers, but isn't very close with his cousins at all.

I did limit it somewhat and didn't invite two of my first cousins that I don't really talk to. I'm still hoping there won't be too much fallout from that.

Neither of us. Thank God! My family is much much larger than his so the majority of the list is mine but, I had no problem with keeping it down to the nearest and dearest.

If we invited all of my cousins we'd have 60ish extra people. No thanks! I invited the ones that I am close to.

It's always tough figuring out who to invite! Sometimes you can't invite everyone and that's okay!

Replace cousins with co workers, and that's my FH!

Granted they do all hang out after work, but just in his work friends alone it's taken up 20 people on our guest list and I haven't met a lot of them yet!

I have definitely heard this happening with parents! I think they get so excited about their child getting married that they want everyone there lol.

Neither is us

My FH! He has so much family, and it’s taken as a personal offense if we forget to invite one person! My side is way more relaxed.

Initially, I didn't want to invite all of my cousins because my side of the family is so much bigger than FH's. But in the end, I decided to invite all of my cousins, lol.

Kinda both of us , but I take up a majority of the guest list

Neither we don't have a lot of family that we speak to ( long distance)
