Who said it? - "Your mother is driving me crazy!"

Mr to FH, and for good reason! She's very overbearing!

LOL! DH said it to me multiple times, but she drove us BOTH crazy during the wedding planning process. She had some very specific ideas of how the day should go and got upset whenever something contradicted it.

While his mother was here before the wedding, she drove me a little crazy too! We had to drive her around and drop her off in Ohio, and she kept adding more and more stops! We didn't get home until 11pm! I looked at DH that day and went "Omg never again." I love his mom, but that was such a tiring, overwhelming day.

Me - my mom is so good about staying out of everything, FMIL thinks we have a million dollars to do everything she thinks we "have to" do. I love love love her, but she needs to relax.

I said it about my own mother, so I guess it could be him through me, since I often vented to him about the million little things that my mom had a strong opinion about. His stepmom did push my buttons a little bit, but she was mostly hands-off so it wasn't too bad.

Definitely my FH, my mom likes to talk to people like they are children.

My FH mother drove me nuts. She wanted me to change the colors of out wedding. Then she want me to pick out different bridesmaids dresses because she wanted to wear the same dress. Thank God she lives 90 mins from us.

Wow that adventure with his mom sounds very exhausting! Were you all picking things up for the wedding or just running general errands? I'm very nervous about dealing with my mom during the planning process, I feel like she'll be similar to your mom in the sense that she'll get upset if it's not her "vision".

FHs mother passed away before we met. Mine is staying out of it. Thank Goodness!

Uhmmm me lol. FMIL is rude and very opinionated. We basically stopped talking to her about the wedding because every discussion turned into a fight.
My mom, on the other hand, is amazing. Her and my dad are helping us so much with everything including money, and they haven’t asked us for a single thing. They want our day to be about us and what we want. Thank god!

I just said this about his mom last night. We went to pick up my dress on Sunday and I brought a pair of heels to see how the length would be with that height since I bought my dress in a short length hoping to not need it hemmed. When she saw the heels she was like those aren’t your wedding heels are they?! And I was like no they are just to try for height and I told her I’d probably do green heels. (Our wedding color) She was like why not white they are supposed to be white! I said I don’t want white. Then last night she text me pictures of heels she saw that are white and I told her I’m still getting green heels. And she’s like oh yeah I forgot. She also berated me the whole ride about where we are staying the night before the wedding and how we have to figure it out and how to transport my dress. Which isn’t big and is easily moved? My wedding is in June! This isn’t even an issue right now. She’s kind of driving me mad. She also told me I didn’t need an expensive belt for the dress I could get one at the dollar store. Ugh.

Most of the stuff was for the wedding, which is fair, but some of it was just "we need stuff back at home." (They live in Oregon) lol.

I had to shut my mom down a few times and just firmly tell her "no". she got mad at me once, saying "Shouldn't I have a say in something?" And I listed off a bunch of stuff she had a say in. She was quiet for a while after that. Just be firm and remind her while you appreciate the help, it's still YOUR wedding! At the end of the day, she was completely happy with how it turned out and everything went great!

Thankfully both our moms are respecting our engagement time but it's still early for the planning process and my FMIL is and extreme coupon shopper so time will tell lol

This is me lol but his mom has grown on me

Me to FH. His mother is really nice but does not retain anything so it's frustrating to have to repeat myself over and over. Also, she now has the opposite opinion of anything my mother suggests. It's making me crazy.
