Who sells the best wholesale disposable cameras?

chocolategirl, on May 5, 2010 at 12:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I want to get a bunch of digital cameras to put around the reception, not just at the tables but different places, so I will need a few, more than a few really something like 25 cameras.

I can go anywhere from what it looks like tome, but picture quality does matter to me, so I wanted to know if you used dispoables, where'd you get them from?

Further, the disposable cameras really don't have strong enough flashes or (any) optics to capture good images in the majority of dimly lit reception halls. It's pretty rare to have the reception taking place in a well lit venue unless it is an afternoon outdoor event. You will end up with a lot of red-eye pictures, and then you have to pay more for the images on CD/DVD.

Like Brian said, I'm actually looking into purchasing a lot of digital cameras to place on tables. The cost to the bride would be comparable to what someone would spend on a group of disposable cameras, and I'd be putting the images up online. Trying to figure out if this is something that couples would be interested in as a service?!

I think she just wants them to let her guests use and to drop in a basket. That's what I'm doing, as well as a professional photographer. I think it's important to have both. In the craziness of everything, we miss out on a lot. Our uests can help capture their own silly moments at our weddings.

@chocolategirl- if anyone gives you a good answer, will you please message me to let me know, because I'm curious too Smiley smile

And also, Matthew touched on it- it's also a good idea to get the picture CD when you take the cameras to be (oh jeeze... what's the word??? Digital cameras have taken over lol... ummm... OH!!!) developed. That way, you can put them online and your friends can print them out themselves.

Oh! Okay, gotcha Brian Smiley smile You are right about that. It may not be too bad if she has an outdoor reception, indoor disposable pictures are terrible.

Most people now have digital cameras. If you spread the word, your guests could bring their digital cameras, take pictures, and then upload them to a site for everyone to see.

If you go with a disposable, and your event is indoors and will be dimly lit, chose something with a higher ISO rating. Most people on this site probably haven't even used film, so haven't had to buy it. The lower the ISO number is, the brighter conditions it is made for. You might run into 100, 200, 400, and 800 ISO film ratings to the general public.

This is a pretty good price ($2.49), from a HIGHLY reputable camera company that I order lots of gear from, for a higher ISO camera.

Jlacy had a good idea to just let your guest know that you are really wanting pictures from their cameras as well.. I read on one of the forums that one of the brides is bringing her laptop and going to ask her guest to download their pictures to her laptop as they leave so they can as well have the pictures that they took to keep. I think this is a good idea. because as Jlacy said a ton of people now a days have at least one digital camera among the family. Just spread the word.
