Who stands beside me, my maid or matron of honor??

Celina, on January 2, 2018 at 9:27 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 8
I couldn’t choose between both of my closest friends, so I am making one my maid of honor and the other my matron of honor. How do I know which to pick to stand beside me? How should they walk out? I’m scared I’ll hurt their feelings by choosing one over the other! I thought I solved my problem, but I’ve created another one!

Let them stand next to each other and walk hand in hand. That fixes everything

Just to clarify- a matron of honor is exactly the same as a maid of honor except that the matron of honor is married. If you have to single ladies you have two maids of honor. If they're both married, they're both matrons of honor.

I am in a similar situation. I did some research online. One thing I found was the one who has known you the longest stands beside you. I don't know about your situation, but I don't think either of mine would really care who stood beside me. Or would one care more then the other? I have also read having the best man escort both of them at the same time. That is my plan. Do they each know there is another one so to say? You could also possibly have one stand beside you and other sign the marriage licence. That way both of them have one of the "important jobs" of the MOH.

I was in my friends wedding that I am making the matron of honor. My other friend isn’t married yet. That’s why I wanted to have them both because I couldn’t choose between them!

I haven’t asked them yet! I know they both want to have the role because they’ve both said so. I am scared it’s going to be upsetting to them to find out they are sharing the role. I spend just as much time with each of them. They both have very different personalities though, but they are both very creative. The one I want as my maid of honor hasn’t seemed to agree with anything I want and the one I want as a matron of honor has just agreed and offered to help. I love them both so much and I just want to know who to let stand closest to me so I do not upset them.

Sadly they are the same age! 😭 I may just have to talk to them to figure it out and be honest! Might just put the shortest beside me. But I think I’ll let them walk out with the best man or just both of them together!
