Who used lanterns for their centerpeices?

Dena, on September 24, 2016 at 7:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

I was wondering if anyone who used lanterns as part of their centerpeices know what size you used. What size table did you have? My florist advised me that 12" lanterns were too small for a 60" table. The picture attached is my inspiration. Thanks in advance!

I'm doing birdcage lanterns. I haven't seen them on tables though.

I'm doing large lanterns on my 60 inch table and I think they'll look fine. I couldn't imagine them being to small for you though?

I am planning on using lanterns. I too have 60" tables. My lanterns are smaller though for 2 reasons. 1. I don't want my centerpieces in people's faces 2. I feel like with my lanterns being fuchsia colored, and my table runners being gold/white chevron, I felt like the smaller lantern toned it down some. Ignore the flower vase in the back. I was working on multiple projects at one time...

I'm using these ikea lanterns. They are 11 inches and only $7.99 each. I'm planning on putting flowers around them. We had it on an almost 60 inch table and it looked fine.

Jamie, I love your table runner! My initial thoughts were 12" because I was also worried about it being too big, but my florist put doubts in my head. Mrs. R, those are the ones I think I'm getting as well, I just needed help deciding between 12 and 18 inch. Thanks everyone!

    We are using those

    from IKEA and I

    thought the same thing

at first, the larger ones would be best. However, when we went to IKEA and saw them we decided for the smaller one as I was afraid it would be an obstacle for people to see around.

I'm going to do about 3 different center pieces for the (15) 60" tables, so that they all aren't the same. And I was going to do lanterns with flowers in them for some. This is my inspiration picture.. didn't really think through the sizing part.

I have 9" lanterns but they did look a little small on he table so I'm doing a cluster arrangement perched on a crate for height (or a tray - haven't decided yet) with a small bouquet and taper candles

I am using 12 inch lanterns on a 60" table as well. I am surrounding them with a few bud vases and some votive candles to fill out the space. We are also having some tables with really tall floral arrangements. Hopefully this works!
