Who was the first person you shared the engagement news with?

My mom, little sister and my sister’s friend

Both our immidiate family via text but, stopped in at his family first

Our parents! We actually messaged them on facebook, as we were in Iceland and could not really call. Later I messaged my best friend and maid of honor!

His mom and sister. It happened at their house downstairs in the basement so when we came up, I just held up my hand like OMG GUYS

Sorry I am just getting to reply to you. It's been crazy. The first person I called was my dad. My fiance (Mitch) talked to him and came straight to my house and asked me to marry him in my drive way. I was so surprised. When I called my dad he said that he is so happy for me and that I picked a good one.

My mother, his sister and mother, my bestie, and closest friends at work that knew we were engagement ring shopping.

I called my dad. Then I texted my sister to ask if she was around and she said yes (she's notoriously terrible at responding to text messages) and just sent her a picture of my ring and she called FREAKING out and then we went to go look and my fiance's ice sculptures.

I called everyone else the next few days.

Texted my best friend immediately after, then both sets of parents. He proposed on Christmas Day just the two of us, so most of the family knew by that evening with all the holiday phone calls. :-)

Everyone (both of our families and our friends) knew it was coming soon, but didn't know when lol. He also asked my mom's permission, so she knew.

Since my sister was with us when he popped the question she know 1st then my mom.

An ex-Bridesmaid/co-worker. She had called and asked what I was doing. I had just gotten engaged.

It happened in my FH hometown right after Christmas so we decided to tell his mom + grandma in person first. Then I called my parents and sisters once we were back at the hotel.

My fiancee proposed at my family Christmas Eve get together so my family all knew at once. Non family related the first person was my best friend and maid of honor.
