Who was the first person you told about your engagement?

My mother! She would have had a fit if she wasn't the first to know!

Our parents! The close friends and family! Then we announced it on social media a few days later.

My parents! We were on vacation with them but FH was sneaky and they didn’t know he had proposed. I then texted my brother who wasn’t on the trip and my best friend before we posted on social media

My parents but as soon as I walked in the house to tell them my mom said "are you engaged!?" She really didn't know but she saw me hiding the ring behind my back haha 😂 then FHs family as they live right down the road from my parents and all lived together at the time. Then I texted a picture to my siblings!

My Mom! His parents knew he was going to do it that day so we called my mom right away!

My mom was the first person I called, but my FH had a bunch of our friends hidden in the park where he proposed, then after he popped the question, sent out an "all clear" text for them to emerge. So I didn't really tell them, but my friends Sam & Sarah were the first to pop out.

He proposed at my 30th birthday party so about 50 of our closest family & friends were all there to witness

My parents, grandparents, a couple cousins, and a few family friends were there to witness it. I texted my best friend right away then called my grandma!

My brother, technically. We were in door county and waiting for my dad to get home from work so we could call my parents. But I had either texted or called my brother first. After we told my parents, my brother was gloating that he knew first

My mom! I was in Portugal when I got engaged and went out of my way to call her and let her know about 30 minutes after it happened!

We were on vacation and had planned to wait until we got home to tell everyone. But H got excited and called his dad to tell him. We then called my parents and told them too. (But, H had told them before we went, so they already kind of knew.)

I also texted my one close cousin, who wound up telling the whole family and people got a little upset that they didn't hear it from me. I didn't expect her to tell everyone like that, but it was too late. We then told my SILs when we got home.

Since my whole family was there for the engagement, I texted the group text with all my best friends!

Specifically told after the fact, my mother. However, my MOH knew about 8 months prior that I was going to ask him. (yes, you read that right)

His family because we were going to dinner with them for my birthday and he did it before we left home. He knew I wouldn't want him to do in public. His sister in law is my best friend so she still got to know first!
