With a little under two weeks to go to our wedding day, we are just about done paying for the wedding. Since I am the keeper of the budget I have seen it all including the moment it all went astray. With a little under two weeks to go to our wedding day, we are just about done paying for the wedding. Since I am the keeper of the budget I have seen it all including the moment it all went astray. LOL! I've been trying to reign it in but once out of the gate the budget just took off left.

So now as the last checks are cut and all is said and done...drum roll... we are

$10,000 OVER BUDGET. **Sigh** I tried. I really did try.

The good: Venue, Baker, Videography, Invitations, Bartender, Officiant

The bad: Photography, Catering, DJ

The ugly: Event design (my venue is a blank slate - we had to bring in EVERYTHING!)

The HM has its own budget so excluding from here.

So were you under or over? If over, what got you? If under, what didn't get you?

First he said 1000! I guess I looked at him like he had to heads because then he said "fine 1500" I don't think men get it. The food alone was nearly 700

Oh I feel you! We're October 12th! What's your date? We came in about $500 over budget but ours was $34,000 so we were already paying a ton haha. We went over by adding a limo and then my dress was $1,000 over. Also photography!

LOL depends on who's budget that you are going off.

We didn't have a hard budget, just an idea of what we though things were going to cost. FH thought it would be about $15k - I said $20k, it is about $30k.

We're just under a year out and we originally planned between $10k and $15k. There's still some vendors we have yet to book so I already know we're going to be over because catering is one of them. Not sure how much over but as of right now I'm afraid to even think about it lol

Originally we were $12k for both our honeymoon and wedding but now we're closer to $10k just for the wedding. We've added an extra day at our Airbnb which is $1200 right there plus extra food and drinks for everyone. The house sleeps 24 so 20 of our family members will be staying with us for 3 nights-it's our gift since everyone is traveling from out of state.

Overall, we're about 3k over budget but well worth it

We went with a local chicken place, we get:

    200 pc. Chicken
    8 pans Shack Potatoes
    4 pans Cole Slaw
    8 doz. Rolls
    $521.80
    ($5.22 per person)

we only have 75 guests, and that's for 100 people, but to be able to have it delivered we had to buy at least 200 pieces of chicken. I'm also going to pick up some bagged salad and some bottles or packets of dressing

Were looking to go several hundred over our minuscule budget right now. I’m not pleased. FH thinks we’re going to make it (we have a joint account used exclusively for wedding stuff), I think a few things are going to start bouncing if we don’t add a little more.

My budget was based on my previous planned event but the guest count was way higher. Now the guest count is about 1/3 less and so we set the budget 1/3 less than before. My FH didn't want to go overboard but he wanted me to be happy. I had a vision in mind for how I wanted my venue to look like and just went for it.

    I feel this🤣🤣
When we first starting planning we didn’t really have a set budget because we didn’t have a clue how much anything would be. After a little research we thought we could do everything for around $6k (honeymoon included). Then after we actually started booking things, we set our budget at $10k. As of right now, we’re at around $12.5k and I’m 75 days out so could go up with last minute stuff. Things that have gotten us were hair cost, dress itself cost (was wanting to find a good deal like so many people on here under $1k but it’s costing me about $1.4k before alterations), catering (wanted to self cater, realized I can’t cook for 150 ppl lol)

We budgeted for $1000 (not so far destination elopement) and came just under $1200 so it really wasn't too bad. What put us over mostly were small things like last minute photo props (cake, chargers, round wooden tree block, two veils I bought but only used one- never got around to returning the other).

So far I am on budget. Saved about a 1000 on my dress. Saved 600 on cake saved 300 on stationary but scared that's all going to be gone with florals and one of my future stepsons is 7 and all he talks about is getting to ride in a limo. Well we were gonna skip the limo but I want all 4 of our boys to feel like we are all getting married if that makes sense. Our biggest issue is our original plan was to be engaged for 21 months me put 1200 a month in and my ch to put 1200 a month in. But things just keep coming up so I just keep trying to shave off costs.

I didn't think so either. We will have a ton of leftover food. I had been worried about it going bad while we were on our honeymoon, but we don't get one after all, so i'll be eating chicken for a week lol

Well I'm not even close to done yet... Shame on me, we're 6 months away. But I promised FH it would be under $5, and the venue/catering/cake/chairs/tables came out to $5K. That means all attire, flowers, décor, rings, photographer and whatever extras we have need to be as cheap as possible. He's already a little grumpy with me lol.

I'm hoping to end up under budget. My paternal grandmother has graciously offered to pay for my dress and my parents have a savings fund set aside for both mine and my sister's weddings. Hopefully that collectively puts enough of a dent in it that we don't have to pay for much ourselves.

We didnt want to spend over $5000. And I dont believe (for what we are paying) that we will go over budget.
