Whoopie Pie Wedding Favors... weird question

betty, on August 1, 2013 at 2:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

We're doing a quirky sort of reception and regular formal cake is not on the menu.

I've been thinking of cupcakes in jars, or pies, in addition to a candy bar.

Then I remembered whoopie pies. They would look cute packaged individually. My mom makes a mean whoopie pie.

Then I thought, will that prompt too many dumb jokes from people? Like "wow, looks like you guys made a lot of whoopie", "you must be tired from making all this whoopie before the wedding, I thought you were supposed to wait until your married, har har"

etc?

If you are having a quirky reception, silly jokes (and those are kind of funny) should fit right in?

I love this idea! Since your mom's whoopie pies are delicious, people will be focused on eating them and not on making jokes (or, if they do make jokes they will be short lived after their taste the pies). Go for it!

I don't think its that big of a deal, if people joke, they joke. I think whoopie pies are delicious and I would be more concerned with people eating and enjoying them than making jokes about it.

We are doing whoopie pies! We are getting them from a place that we stopped at during one of our first dates ha. I agree that you may be overthinking it, but a silly joke here and there won't ruin your wedding :-)

As cute as these are, I think you really should. And how cute are the heart shaped red velvet whoopie pies? LOVE!
