So I'm just curious as to how many people are inviting everyone from out of town as well as their bridal party and immediate family to the rehersal dinner? Is it rude to not invite out of town guests? What should I do? Any other ideas?

We aren’t having a rehearsal dinner but if we were it would be WP and immediate family only. If we invited out of town guests it would be nearly 100 people

For ours we will just be having the bridal party, our parents, ring bearer, and our officiant. Keeping it small.

We are basically doing just the wedding party and immediate family (mothers, fathers, grandparents), we should invite people that are out of town but that would be a HUGE cost that we are not willing to take on. Most guests are close for us anyways.

I feel like that is a outdated tradition.

Hi Natalie! I think it is up to you if you want to invite out of town guests based on your budget for the rehearsal dinner. Typically, the rehearsal is really just for the bridal party, the parents, flower girl/ring bearer and their parents - anyone involved in the ceremony should be there so everyone knows their spots and can do a run through.
I think it would be a nice gesture to invite the spouses of the bridal party, especially is it is a far travel. I do not think it is rude to not invite out of town guests,

We are inviting wedding party + their spouses & kids, immediate family, and aunts/uncles/cousins. So total, 70 people. We can't include out of town guests, that would be closer to 120.
