Why are chargers so expensive?

I'd say skip the chargers. I like how you called them "pre-plates" LOL to me, that means they are unnecessary.

I got so lucky and found gold ones at Walmart in their Christmas sale. Only 10 cents a piece! I bought every single one!

Check out your local wedding FB groups or try renting them.

I rented mine, though they were more than the price you listed. But definitely look into rental, you may get lucky...and search for other brides reselling theirs on local bridal/wedding FB pages.

Event rental vendors have a large selection at a reasonable price. My event rental company had two sale events a linen event and chair event. I was able to save 50% on my linen and chair rentals.

I'm a big thrifter and I constantly see chargers in thrift stores, usually like 10-20 all stacked and taped together for about 8 bucks. Try goodwill and salvation army and maybe you'll get lucky.

I was able to get 100 gold chargers at Michaels for $75. They were half off (normally $1.99) and then the lady had some coupon that took it down to $75. I would check local re-sell facebook groups. When I first started looking for chargers (one of the first things i looked for, oddly enough) they were too expensive and then I came across this deal after looking for quite some time!

I was going to skip them until I found them on a Facebook resale group. Wouldn't have gone with them otherwise.

I know many people on here aren't fans, but hobby lobby does have them for cheap.

It's totally worth renting! A local rental place charges $1 per charger. We are opting for vintage champagne chargers.

I'm renting them for $0.75 each. I thought about buying them, then trying to resell them, but didn't want the hassle.

I got mine through Michael's on sale for about $1.36 each, might be worth checking them out.

Then skip them....no one will notice or care.

@jay I wanted to do chargers instead of linens. My venue includes ivory linens so i wanted the chargers for a pop of color

@alyssa it's basically a pre-plate! They're usually 13 inch plates but they're decorative and you don't eat off of them.
