LOL Lily too bad you dont live closer haha. I didn't either, it's snowing like crazy - who am i kidding, i wasn't going anyway. I did a few arm exercises with weights, but nothing to make a difference i'm sure Smiley sad. let's try again tomorrow Lily. I hope you feel better.

I had a bowl of cereal and a smoothie for dinner lol......i'm going to try doing large lunches and light dinners for a little while see if that helps.

I might get zumba for the wii.

I completely understand what you're going through. I myself work 2hrs away and to get myself motivated has been trying. I do have a nutiritional system that helps me with the energy level so I can achieve. I can send you info on this if you like.

This is what I do now. I get up a few minutes earlier then my normal time. I do some stretches and that helps. I also take the stairs at work so I know I'm getting exercise that way as well. Plenty of water is a must with me as well. This is truly helping me stay on goal. If I begin to get cravings for junk food like I so love, I have a jar of peanut butter in a drawer and just take a spoonful to help control cravings. (it works big time)

Having someone to motivate you a positive manner - a must!!!

All the best to you and if you need motivation or encouragement - I'm here and will cheer you on.

The only way I can go to the gym is if I go in the morning. It's the best time of day for me because the only excuse I have to not go is being too tired. When I try to go after work there can be countless reasons for me to miss. But in the morning it's only that one excuse.

I am in the same boat...I am not motivated either... I would love to lose just as much as you if not more and it is super hard to get motivated during the holidays. FH and I have made a choice to both become more healthy and attempt to get motivated. I agree with you and we should all motivate each other... We can do it if we have support!

I initially started working out with my roommate. When our schedules changed I had to keep myself motivated to do it. I go to the gym as soon as I wake up now. I know if I don't then I'll get busy and find an excuse to not go. Once I get home I do a 6 minute ab workout. As far as between commercials .. I do it! I do push ups or plank for as long as I can. Plank is actually REALLY good for your core! I haven't changed my eating habits much because we eat relatively healthy anyway. Try taking a Super B Complex also. Not only does it give you energy but it also boosts your metabolism.

Make sure you're drinking lots of water! It makes you feel full and its incredibly good for you. Sandi's suggestion of peanut butter is great. I did the same thing when I was working at my office job. It helps with cravings and is a great source of protein.

If you want to get really serious try cutting your average daily calories down to 1/3 or 1/2. A couple years ago I did a really strict diet and dropped 80 lbs in about 6 months. I've semi maintained the diet and have managed to keep most of it off. I've only gained back about 15 lbs. You would be shocked how much food you can actually eat at 600 calories a day. You have to really want to do it though!

My motivation was getting healthy but, maybe if you put a picture up of something wedding related where you can see it every morning it will motivate you! I keep looking at my ring for my motivation :-)

I can't either and I think it's because I'm pulled in a million different directions. My mind is always working, and I don't make myself a priority.

    Two kids

    Full time job

    Long distance fiance

    wedding planning

home maintenance (I have a mortgage)

more debt than I've ever had in my life

I feel like my life is spinning out of control. I hope this merry-go-round stops soon.

You just have to schedule time to exercise and make it a priority. I like to go in the morning, before the rest of the day gets in the way. Since you said you don't want to go in the morning, take your gym clothes to work with you and go right after work. If you go home first, you will get distracted and skip it.

If weight loss is the goal, remember that it is 70% diet, 30% exercise. I have always been good at exercising but inconsistent with diet and it shows on the scale.

Perhaps signing up for a 5k or something will give you a more specific goal to motivate you.

You would think the wedding date would be enough to motivate me lol, i dont like my flabby arms!!

Honestly my diet is not too bad, i spluge once in a while to stay sane but i eat pretty healthy about 80% of the time. I really think i need more exercise. Now i just need to try to be motivated.

If anyone wants to be my cyber "workout buddy" message me privately maybe we can exchange emails and numbers and beat each other up privately about exercising LMAO Smiley smile

Also you say you are tired, too tired to workout. When you start an exercise program, you should see your energy levels increase. If not, it could be a sign that you aren't eating enough. It could also be medical, like an under active thyroid. Have you considered getting checked out by a doctor?

My FH doesn't gain weight either, regardless of what he eats. Stupid boy.

For all you ladies saying that your FH will eat whatever you make, and that you cook delicious meals, look for healthy recipes to try. My healthy recipes always turn out kind of...weird...but if you're great cooks, maybe your FH/kids won't notice the difference, or they'll think it is better than the original! It is hard to eat less or eat better when your FH is eating a whole Qdoba burrito and it looks delicious, simpler to just make your own food.

I take in about **** calories a day. I have had my thyroid checked last year, and actually i do take meds because it was "a little low", i'm on a low dose of that med.

Maybe i need to increase it, i guess i better check, because i lose weight very slowly based on my food intake, even when i went to a bariatric center (they give you meds and b12 shots) i lost pretty slowly.

If you just got put on meds last year for thyroid, a doctor should be monitoring it at least every 6 months. Under active thyroid is very much under treated. I have been to 3 different doctors, all with different goals as to where my thyroid level should be. I didn't notice normal energy levels and weightloss results until my TSH levels were around 4 with my current doctor. My former doctor thought my labs looked fine when I had a TSH of 9.5. Another doctor thought underactive thyroid didn't need treatment until TSH was above 15. I had zero energy and was gaining weight even though I was dieting and exercising when i was at a 9.5. If your thyroid levels are off, dieting and exercising isn't going to do too much. Get copies of your lab tests from your doctor and do research.

Oh wow, mine wasn't considered "under" but low, so i'll have them re-check it.

Here is one article that explains why thyroid problems are undertreated.

    http://thyroid.about.com/cs/hypothyroidism/a/undertreated.htm

I have spent many years being very frustrated about low energy levels and weight gain. It really took away a lot of my determination to eat right and exercise - I figured I am going to be fat so I might as well eat food I enjoy. Now that I have gotten my thyroid under control, I am at the lowest weight I have been since high school, I sleep very well, and have a fantastic energy level. Hopefully this helps! Good luck!

Like all the ladies have said its all about making changes small changes. When you start seeing and feeling the difference you wont want to give up or lack motivation. A big part is finding a workout that keeps you excited. For me that was Insanity and Turbofire for others its 30day shred or zumba. you just have to find what works for you and do it.

Find an accountability partner even if its online and log your workouts. My way that I stay on track and workout every day is I log my workouts in WOWY because everyday it shows me what workout I have scheduled and it has a timer to tell me how much time I have left. The bonus is the $500 prize just for working out no matter what the workout is. I could really use that for the wedding.

So find your incentive, be accountable and have fun.

Here is the site to sign up and win for working out. www.CoachAngie.com

What everybody else said ... finding a workout partner makes a big difference. And maybe if you take classes at the gym that might tone the boredom down?
