Please include the size of your wedding as well.

Thank you!!

I think #1 was the it was all inclusive (no additional fees for linen, china, etc) but didn't have the stuffy feel of a hotel eventhough it is one. Its open with a wall full of windows and includes an outdoor patio. The price was more than we wanted to spend, but being able to get the feeling we wanted was worth it.

I had a few specifications that the venue had to meet to be considered:
    -waterfront w/ waterfront view
    -under $40 pp
-simple food- if I can't pronounce it, it's out
    -availability on our date

Other priorities included (not required but certainly helped)
    -friendly services
-could hold ceremony there as well
    - close to home and vendors

When I found a venue that met the top four criteria, I sprung on it lol. We're having 20 guests so it's very small and intimate. The place we first loved isn't available for our date (or even our month) so we continued our search. Eventually, we found Doc Ford's and it fit us very well. Our budget is just over $5k and mabout half of that is going to videography and photography.

Price and convenience. We wanted a place with packages to make it easier on us. Our venue includes linens, food (3 different options : Family style, buffet, plated), flowers through a contracted florist, choice of 10 DJ's, limo, centerpieces also through florist choice of 2, coordinator for the day, invitations, place card, RSVP cards (we opted out and got a credit for it), cake, bridal suite, ceremony site outside for an adt'l $350. Literally everything in one place. Also close to 4 hotels of varying prices.. from a comfort in to very pricy hotel. Other things we liked, but did not make our decision was booze is cheap because it is part of the ELKS. can leave cars there overnight and pick up next morning if "accidents happen" and ppl can't drive. Familiarity with Cabs in the area who will be there at a given time to pick up guests and bring them to hotel for $4. Family style included enough of two types of meat for everyone at the table so technically everyone can have chicken

AND steak.. 19,000 was the quote. That's the best we could find in our area that didn't require tons of work on our part. since we have other DIY's we want to do and FH works night and I work days, it doesn't leave a lot of time for wedding planning so we needed someone we could call and make decisions Smiley smile oh and we have 150 ppl.

Proper size to have a band without making everyone deaf or the room looking empty.

    competitive pricing

Room's for our guests to stay the night as half were OTT

    reception hall size 64 x 69 x 9

we had a courtyard for coctail hr and back up room size 34 x 62 x 9 incase coctail hr got rained out (which it did)

The price *free. If we ordered full meals for all our guests, and had a bar (open or cash) When we booked meals started at $22 a plate including salad or soup, entree, and cake. (they have since gone up $11 a plate, since we booked 2 Julys ago) We also got a honeymoon suite onsite the night of the wedding FREE cause half our guests were OTT and booking rooms there. Rooms were (suite which they only have 2 are $250 and include bedroom, office, boardroom, 2 bathrooms, livingroom, kitchenette, and ourdoor screened in heated patio with couches and bbq's, and view of the St.Lawrence river)

We had no specific budget on venue, our wedding budget was $10,000 for everything

My venue had everything I wanted.

It was a hotel where guest could stay. I can be there the day of and I guest don't have to drink & drive.

Has an enclosed garden for ceremonies.

Hotel has nice restaurant for reception with wall to ceiling windows looking into golf course, with a patio for cocktail hour.

Package included food cooked on site, wedding cake, linen and whatnot, and suite for me and FH that night.

And is 10min from my parents house.

*slightly* over budget, but I think it's worth it. It wasn't available on our original date, the 25th, but the next day (Sunday) is cheaper and on Memorial day weekend, so it may as well be a Saturday.

Cost. We are in the DC area so we needed to find something that was nice, but reasonably priced. Size will be between 100 & 125. Our budget is $20k and our venue will end up costing around $12K. This includes food, open bar, staff, linens tables & chairs.

We chose ours because of three reasons. 1)it is my favorite place in town. The garden is where I go to relax when I am stressed and where I walk to clear my mind when I am dealing with something. It is so calm and peaceful. 2)I took FH there when we were dating (he had never been despite, or maybe because of the third reason) It was there that FH decided he wanted to marry me. 3) FH's late grandfather bred and raised roses, and after he died, his roses (some of which he created the strain) were transplanted to two gardens in Omaha. There are five of his grandfather's rose bushes that are there in their rose garden. So it's like a bit of him is there with us.

We chose our venue because M picked it! lol.

I found a few online that I loved the look of, we went to our venue to check it out and M was silent the whole time, once we were done touring the lady left us alone to discuss and he said he wanted to get married there, so we made our deposit!

Our priorities were tied between food and price. We are both HUGE foodies, and actually tasted the food at the locations we visited. We narrowed them down by price since we are paying for the wedding ourselves.

Close behind were location, photo opportunities, and (perhaps most importantly) the feeling/interaction with the staff.

The number one reason we chose our venue was the price...We looked for the package and what it included, and made our choice based off of that. Location was big, all inclusive was big...We also went off of reputation a little bit, and because it had a good one, it ended up being our choice.

My FH and I work with marine life and study the growth and morphs of Coral Reef so the beach wedding idea just seem right. Our Location was chosen because we feel it is where we come from, are our venue was decide on by price and ability to accommodate 16 people with my nontraditional request. I was lucky and got both at a very nice price. I did not really have a set amount for the venue I was more looking for the right person to work with.

The number one criteria for choosing our venue was food...my fiance and our family wanted a Chinese banquet menu. After that was convenience...I wanted an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception at the same venue so this narrowed down our choices to 3 hotels. One of the hotels, our friends had gotten married there recently so we eliminated that option so we were really down to 2 choices for our venue. After that, the next important criteria was the price and what was included in the package. Fourth and last was how pretty the ceremony site was.

Our venue budget was around $15k and our overall budget is around $25k. Our venue includes 3 appetizers, 10 course Chinese banquet, 3 hours open bar, tables, linens, silverware, setup, cleanup, etc. Our guestlist will be about 120.

To be honest, I first saw the beautiful building that is our venue when I was 10 years old. It is a historical courthouse that over looks the St. Croix river. The colors are beautiful in October! Ever since, I have imagined my wedding taking place on their front steps. I am just happy my FH loves the building as much as I do, or at least that is what he told me Smiley smile

I picked it because it is only 2900 and includes EVERYTHING! Then I took FH to see it last weekend and his grandma had told us about how when people pass away if they are close to you they will leave random change in spots and we have noticed it once before. (FH mother passed away in May) and we had left and came home and there was a shiny penny in our blinds. NO one was here during that time to place it there. Then when I showed him the venue we went into this little room attached to a bigger room in the house and when we went back into the bigger room the lady who runs it said "did you guys drop that nickle? I just cleaned this room spotless". And we knew it was from his mom. Smiley smile Thats when we KNEW it is THE place.

We chose a venue that was a one stop shop. Somewhere that was really pretty and wasn't crazy expensive. Some of the places in the California Bay area are ridiculously priced IMO. My dad hasn't given me a price for my budget but I put in 20K just so I could see how much was being spent.....I'm trying not to go that high. Also, the food choices sounded delicious, I was drooling just reading the descriptions.

With the ceremony venue, we with my church that I belong to. Its beautiful and spacious. It already has bridal suits and gooms suits available at my church. It just has everything that we need including video, security, additional equip, audio and sound crew available and the space is more than enough! As far as our reception venue we picked, honestly, we went for the look, and our vision then price. We were more than shocked that we didnt have to spend an arm leg and toe on our venue with the look that we wanted and its beuatiful. It fits our theme of a Princess and elegance them. As far as it coming with anything special, it didnt. :-( However, I was willing to deal with that for the cost of what I needed and I didnt have to make a venue look the part of the vision that we had. They do have a list of recommendations and decore. The price for the venue for the recp is 2200. and the price to rent my church is $800 For the reception its in he heart of the downtown area. cont...

It feels like a cop-out to say "the whole package" but it's how all the factors in various priorities fell into place. I can say for us it was mainly type of venue, location, total per person cost/what it included, and then food. The type of venue needed to match the "mood" we wanted, fun-less formal-intimate and with that is the service. We saw some great spaces, but the service felt apathetic at times or was inconsistent and we didn't want our guests to feel that way. Location needed to be within Manhattan or a short ride away, no further. Total cost for 125-150 people we're working within a budget as most are. And though we LOVE food, it didn't need to be world renowned. It just needed to be good and willing to accommodate some requests for the cocktail hour. In the end we looked at ReBar, Manhattan Penthouse, Public, and Sunset Terrace in Chelsea Piers. We signed with Sunset Terrace.
