Why did you pick the date?

What is the reasoning for your actual wedding date?

We chose May 2, 2020. We have multiple factors involved. The 2nd came from our original anniversary of December 2nd. We are getting married outside in Wisconsin so we couldn't keep it in December. The month was all driven by work. We have very big decisions to make in July so we have to have all paperwork filed before then. 2020 was between deployments for one or both of us.

Tell your story!

We got engaged last april and had not been together that long. To ease our parents' concerns, we decided we needed to have a long engagement but keep it under a year because we didnt want to wait TOO long. Being in Texas, we knew summer was out of the question. We both get too hot way too easily plus wool kilts apparently do not breath well so we were looking at late winter/fall. We also had to contend with our officiants schedule since he has a retreat, a ceili (story telling around a campfire event) and then a high day ritual in the 2 weeks before valentines day for Imbolc. We definitely did not want valentine's day as everywhere gets way too busy. We ran by his parents to have it on 2/22/2020 or 2/29/2020 and since his mom works in elections, she said that she wouldnt be able to make 2/29 or anything later due to a local primary running. That pretty much settled the date for us before we even looked at venues.

Well, our original wedding date was December 1, 2017, which is the day before my birthday. Due to the double category 5 hurricanes in 2017, we had to reset. So our new date is still close to my birthday and the original day which is the last Saturday in November.

We chose October 12th because we wanted a colorful fall wedding and October is when colors peak in Northern Michigan. We didnt want the first week because that's my MOH anniversary, the week after is our nieces birthday and my FH has drill, and the last week is Halloween (and I love doing costumes with my family). We originally were going to have a Friday wedding, but the 11th was his mom and dads anniversary (they're divorced), so we decided the 12th was our day!

We chose October 24th 2020 because it will be our 6 year anniversary on our wedding day! The date happened to fall on a Saturday and the venue we loved had the date open. It will be such a special day an a date neither of us can forget.

Mine was going to be the day before Halloween, but our officiant wasn't going to be available unless it was a Saturday. So, November 2, 2019.

I wanted a fall wedding because it's my favorite season and our anniversary is in November but we ended up getting a great deal on a venue so we went with April 5, 2020. Chosen mainly for the price and the weather. Plus 4/5/20 is nice numerically

We both honestly wanted a long engagement so we could properly plan, save and enjoy this time in our journey together. We wanted a June wedding and since we were engaged in December 2018 we knew June 2019 would be too quick for what we wanted. We chose the date because it fit in with our schedules, 7 is also a lucky number for my family so getting married on June 27 seemed fitting.

Well as much as I'm trying to keep it the 27th of December 2020, some venues won't do a Sunday wedding. So the 26th is the back up plan. Why 27? Because that's my fiance's favorite number and swears it's good luck. And if that's what the man wants, that's what the man gets. Also we live in Florida, so December would be great for our families to come down for Christmas and then stay for our wedding so they can get away from the cold and have a good holiday with us.

Our date is August 29, 2020. August 28, 2020 will be our 5 year dating anniversary and what better way to celebrate than by getting married the following day? I’m envisioning wonderful weekend celebrations ahead!

We wanted a fall wedding; FH parents got married in September and so did our good friends so we knew we didn’t want September. November is too busy with my birthday & Thanksgiving. So we looked at October and noticed 10.10.2020 and thought it was neat and just went with it.

Hi date twin! We have no attachment to the date. We were able to get Sunday pricing for that Saturday even though it’s considered “in season” saves us about $5000. Sold. Haha

Our date holds no significance. We planned our elopement 7weeks from that day. I basically said to my husband last month "let's just do it! Let's get married next month" he asked what day I had I'm mind and I literally just pulled up the calendar in my phone and picked a random Sunday that sounded good. The 22nd it was lol.

My date was originally September 14th, but i had a cousin who was planning her wedding at the same time, and already chose the date. My birthday is in October & i love fall, so i chose the first Sunday of the month. I can’t believe it’s next Sunday, I’m already emotional! Lol

My grandparents were very special and influential people to me and they have since passed. When picking THE date all my fiance wanted was something in the summer of 2020. So it only made perfect sense to pick my grandparents wedding date of 6/20. A small way to symbolize they will always be with us and a tribute to their incredible marriage.

We chose June 20, 2020, cause it sounds cool, but it also will be 4 and a half years since Tim asked me out on our first date!!! We are doing it in the summer as well where we both don't have to worry about missing any time at college. I am so excited and so blessed! #happilyeverleaver
