What is the reasoning for your actual wedding date?

We chose May 2, 2020. We have multiple factors involved. The 2nd came from our original anniversary of December 2nd. We are getting married outside in Wisconsin so we couldn't keep it in December. The month was all driven by work. We have very big decisions to make in July so we have to have all paperwork filed before then. 2020 was between deployments for one or both of us.

Tell your story!

We chose 4.11.20 because it will be our 6 year anniversary of dating and it just so happens to fall on a Saturday! So it all worked out Smiley smile

My partner originally wanted to get married on December 31st but we thought it would be complicated because everyone would want to spend it with their respective families. Ended up with December 21st because it was close to the original date and our guests would most likely be free during the holidays.

    We chose 10/31/20

We both have been married before and both of us didnt want anything to close to our old wedding dates, we also didnt want to get married during the same month as my FH's brother or sisters wedding dates. We also didnt want anything in the same month as either one of our birthdays ( dont want to make anniversy easy LOL), so we were left with I think Jan (to cold in Chi), April, October and Dec (again to cold). So it was random I said pick a date in the month he said 31st, I said ok Month and he said Oct. We both said BAM Oct 31st!!!! Our theme also just happens to be Simply Meant to Be, like Jack and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas!

I LOVE YOUR IDEA! Keeping part of your old anniversary, and making it new! Smiley heart I wish I had thought of that. I picked my date solely because I liked it on paper: 3/16/2020 (OCD is a funny thing, isn't it?) But it ended up on a Monday, which saved us $2K as well, so win win. Smiley smile

We haven't officially picked our date yet but it's such a headache because we have lots of family members schedules to work around. We originally wanted May 2021 but realized that my brother's high school graduation is the week we were wanting and we aren't about to steal his graduation spotlight. We can't do the week before that because my mom is a teacher so my mom and brother will both be in school. We can't do the last week of any month because of my dad's work schedule (he isn't allowed to take the last 10 days of any month off for any reason). My sister and my FH's sister are in college so we also have to consider what kinds of dates they would be able to take off. We really want a late spring or early fall wedding but planning around everyone's lives is proving difficult. Not to mention planning around all of my friends weddings (so far we have April 24, May 14, August 7, August 14 and August 23 as "black out dates" for friends weddings)

I live in south Florida and I refused to have a summer wedding so we went for fall. October is my birthday and Halloween so November was the perfect fall month. The day in November was chosen because most of my FH’s firefighter family would have that day and the next off so they could all attend and Friday cut down costs since the venue offered a lower rate for Friday rather than Saturday. No real meaning although I did find out later that it’s my grandfathers birthday Nov 1st and this year it just so happens to be the day of the dead on that day too so we are honouring him during our ceremony.

He asked me to be his GF on Aug 28, 2017. So we picked Saturday, Aug 29, 2020 to be married as close to our 3rd anniversary as possible. We would have chosen the 28th but our venue doesnt do weddings on Fridays just Saturday and Sundays.

We picked February 9th 2020. We originally wanted February 2nd but we didn't want to compete with the superbowl.

    We’re getting married 8/23/20

We went to a winery venue (in Chicago suburbs) and fell in love with it. We knew there was no other place for us.

We were told the times the grapes would look the best would be Mid July through August, right before they harvest.

I felt July would be too hot.

We knew we were going to have a Sunday wedding to cut costs.

So from there we picked the 23rd, because my fiancé was 23 when we met and I was 23 when we got engaged.

So the month was basically picked due to the venue and the day was picked due to sentiment.

Same with us! My FH and I have always talked about the date and how we wanted to incorporate our kids’ birthdays with our wedding date. My daughter was born on 11-02-11 and my son was born on 04-22-16. Then when I looked at the calendar I saw that 02-22-20 was on a Saturday and it was perfect! On top of that it’s a palindrome! 🤣

One year ago today my fiance proposed to me on the hill of my grandparents farm. I had lived there in college and this was the last time I would be there, it was to be sold the following Tuesday. Today I get to walk down the isle to see him. I can't believe how fast time goes. My advice to you all is to enjoy every moment. Our rehearsal went so fast yesterday. I am excited for our lives to start, but it is going to be tough today to not have the the time I'd like to dedicate to visiting with everyone coming to join our celebration.

Our anniversary is on the 7th, my birthday is on the 14th, and his birthday is in the 20th.... So 7/14/20 was perfect... 😍 Plus we want a beach wedding since that is where we first talked about our life together and getting married... We are so excited...❤

We chose October 31st because I'm a big horror movie buff, and she's a goth. We also were big fans of the Addams Family growing up. Overall, we both like spooky things, so we figured, why not Halloween?

I wanted to do it in May around my grandma's birthday weekend because all my family is usually around them and wouldn't need to make a special trip. I talked it through with one of my aunts and she suggested pushing it back a month or more because they had plans to do a lot of work around my grandma's house as a birthday present.

So we pushed it out until June.

June 2nd and 9th were still too soon after my grandma's birthday.

June 16th is the anniversary of one of my grandma's deaths so we didn't want it on that day.

My best friend's birthday is June 24th so I didn't want it to close to that since she ahd to travel.

June 30th things were more expensive because of the holiday shortly after.

I talked about it all with my best friend/ maid of honor and she encouraged me to have it the day before her birthday and not worry about that. She joked that she would never forget our anniversary. So we did. June 23rd

We chose 09/20/20. We knew that we wanted 20th because the year. We chose September because it was later in the year and gave us a lot of time to plan and save money. Also, my fiance's birthday is the 18th.
