Why do people "Invite" themselves to Weddings???????

Yup. an old coworker/ friend asked if she was invited and I outright told her we were only inviting friends we've talked to / hung out with within the last year, and I haven't seen nor talked to her in a few years so NOPE. sorrynotsorry

Coworker was chatting to get details, got the date wrong and the location. then asked who was helping me. i mentioned another friend that she knows and she said, well I can help with favors and stuff if you need it. ummm, no, you are not invited, you did not get a save the date, and we have not hung out after work for YEARS. move on.

I just laugh when they say that and respomd with Ummmmmm ok then and walk away

I work at a fairly large company and EVERYONE assumes they are invited.. it gets annoying at times but I politely tell them we are keeping the wedding small.

I’ve had many people ask me if there invited to my wedding which is not for another year and half. Some people have been extremely rude when asking. It is so awkward to me but also makes me extremely mad that people would be rude about it. If you have to ask then you should know it’s a no. I don’t want to deal with this until the wedding trying to figure out the best response for people.
