I have 2 small bird cages I will decorate for our table at the reception, one with flowers, and the order with 2 small (fake) birds to clip on, with pearls and a candle. So excited only 20 days more!! Smiley smile

An empty Birds Nest on a Wedding Table symbolizes you leaving the Nest of Love ones (Usually Mother or Father) who are no longer living to see you off or walk u down the aisle. The Birds Nest is most appropriate placed near the wedding cake table with a photo of the Lost Loved Ones next to the Bird Nest. Symbolizing they are there in Spirit and Memory. Hope this helps.

I am using a birdcage to symbolize that my marriage will mean I can finally see and meet my home country for the first time, you see up until recently I have been trapped int he "Golden Cage" called the U.S. ...Dont get me wrong I can go wherever I like inside the country and I love it here Smiley smile However, I do wish to go visit my homeland and meet the rest of my family and see the country that I actually came from, where I was actually born and that of my ancestors. So for me marriage is not only a milestone but an accomplishment, its a new era in my life and I feel honored and privileged that my Fiance decided to take the step for me.

I've only seen this in person once and all guests commented it was strange instead of just using an open basket for cards. It's something that originated on Pinterest and took off from there. Supposedly it's a security mean to keep people from stealing cards but very rarely does that happen. Especially in circles where cash is not given, an open basket is the standard for cards with zero risk of anything going missing.
