Why I do I feel I don't deserve it?

wilma, on July 15, 2011 at 11:04 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

I usually the party coordinator in our family ( never witness the "now you can kiss the bride or in any ceremony photos" cuz me and my fiancee are the one usually set up the receptions for the family weddings. Now, as much as detailed I am, my fiancee suggested to hire a Day of coordinator so I don't have to worry about set ups and working on time schedules. I just feel like I don't deserve it cuz I have a small wedding (80-100).

I would hire a DOC. You don't want to be bogged down with tiny details on your day. If a vendor is late, etc... Let her/he handle it. You want to relax drink some champagne and chill w/your girls beforehand. Not be stressing.

I'm having a wedding of no more than 65 guests and I am hiring a wedding planner.

Why? Because I don't want stress on my wedding day. Let someone else deal with it. PLUS they'll be able to look over your contracts & timeline to be sure everything runs smoothly. YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!

I was originally on the fence about a DOC, but I've since decided that I refuse to go without one (this is a complete control issue for me - not only am I OCD about details, but my major is special events, so I feel like I'm asking someone else to do "my job."). Anyway, you DESERVE whatever your heart desires and you certainly DESERVE a stress-free day, regardless if your guest list is 50 or 350!!

Not only do you deserve it, but you need it. You aren't supposed to be doing any heavy lifting (literal or figurative) on your special day. You're just supposed to enjoy it, and you will be too busy to deal with all of the little details!

Do whatever you want, it's your day! If you want a DOC get one.

My wedding was around 100 and I didn't have one, but I got exactly what I wanted out of the day....

80 people isnt THAT small. frankly, i consider truly small to be like 35. and even though its 80 and not 200....all the same wedding things have to happen....there ceremony and reception have to get set up, tables decor, food, timeline, the wedding party needs to be in the right place at the right time, someone needs to make sure things are going according to timeline, someone needs to handle any issues that come up. my venue thankfully came with a DOC and Im soooo glad it did-I got to just take the day in stride rather than have me or my mom handling all the details

I have a full time planner for about 103 guests so trust me regardless of the size of wedding you are worth it. I did not want to have to run around and set things up and make sure everything is right with the ceremony/reception and thn not be able to relax and take in the day. It's your day trust me you are worth it.
