Why is Rock Candy So Fricken Expensive

Mrs. Fornasty, on July 31, 2011 at 3:38 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I was at my moms earlier today, and told her that I wanted to have a candy bufett, but my FH was against it because we are so tight on the budget.... I was telling her that for 40.00 the hall provides the bowels, scoops, and table decorations... all we have to do is provide the candy, and bags.... She was like aww sorry to hear that my FH is against it, but we have to stick to the budget.... Low and behold here comes my step dad, and was like isnt that what ( his daughter ) had at her wedding... My mom was like yes with all the candy... He was like no problem I will pay for it..... Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did you look? These prices all seem reasonable to me. You dont need to buy more that 3-5 lbs. I would focus on trying to have a good variety of candy. Another good place to go is the dollar store and partycity. Even try sams club or costco.

the loose rocks are 5 dollars a pound http://www.ohnuts.com/buy.cfm/bulk-candy/rock-sugar-swizzle-sticks

You can get 72 sticks for 25.20 for un wrapped and a lil more for wrapped http://www.metrocandy.com/Rock-Candy

on this site you can shop candy by color (to match your wedding colors)

Making it is SO easy! I did it for a project in second grade lol.

Check some local candy shops. Some give discounts on bulk!

    Shipping cost is usually ridiculousness!

I went to the science bob website, but here is my (probably dumb) question:

How would I make a lot at once? It just shows how to make one at a time, each with an individual jar, and I don't have 50 jars or the patience to make them one at a time. Smiley laugh
