Why Is Time Moving So Slow?!

MrsRies&Love, on April 19, 2018 at 2:22 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 25

It seems like the last month has gone by so slowly! We have a short 16 days until the wedding, and it still feels like years away.

Hoping to pass the time by putting the finishing touches on the DIY projects - Oh, and watching the Pittsburgh Penguins kill it in the NHL playoffs! Smiley winking Anyone see that game last night?

How are you passing time while (im)patiently waiting for your day?

I have a little over 3 months left and as much as I'm pushing for these days to dwindle down, the more I think, "But shouldn't I enjoy this more? The wedding will be here and gone in no time."

As the days go by, I'm consumed by my work (or at least, my boss and I would like to think so), and I binge watch Orange Is The New Black, Black Mirror, and reruns of Friends.

But for now, my bridal shower is on Saturday so that's been keeping me busy! Getting my nails done for it today!

I feel guilty too for wishing the days away, but I can't help but be so excited! We have a lot coming up after the wedding. Short minimoon, many concerts, festivals, a vacation planned, and we're moving across the state to be closer to my family. PLUS we'll finally be married! I just can't wait to bask in the happiness that awaits. Not to mention the fact that we won't have to be working two jobs and constantly be obsessing over the budget.

I hope your bridal shower is amazing! I know that I really kicked into "omg I'm actually getting married!" mode once the shower came.

Edit: You have great Netflix taste Smiley smile Black Mirror is so good and soul crushing. I've rewatched Friends countless times, and can't wait for the new season of OITNB this summer. For now, we're rewatching New Girl and finding it extra hilarious the second time around.

I hope you have a successful and painless move! Moving is not the funnest thing in the world, especially when planning a wedding, I'm sure.

I need to start watching New Girl! Thanks for the recommendation. I feel like I can only focus on two or three shows at once or else I forget details and get confused lol

And I cannot wait for the new season of OITNB!!!

YES! GO PENS! We aren't that close to our wedding (9 months left) but these days do seem to go so slowly but the weeks and months definitely fly by and we keep ourselves busy with house projects. We have everything nearly figured out so the waiting has been really dragging! Sometimes it feels so close, sometimes it feels so far. I can't wait for fall to come! That's when we have all of our wedding "activities" as far as our couples shower in FL and my bridal shower in PA then I know the holidays will fly by and it'll be our day!

    Congrats on your upcoming day!

Yes! Hobbies! Do things you enjoy. Wedding planning is so stressful, it's so important to keep doing things you enjoy. Helps pass the time and you take care of yourself Smiley smile

My vow renewal wedding is nine days away and I am so antsy. I want that day to get here already but I still have things to do. I have been consumed with work. I go on vacation next Tuesday and have been trying to make sure I leave my desk clean and chairs box empty.

After my FILs nearly ruined our vacation in December, and being so burnt out at work I am so ready to relax, and drink, and eat, and just enjoy being with FH without all the crap that real life has brought us this past year

I'm back and forth on being impatient and wanting more time! I want the day to be here, but I also want to lose a little more weight, I swear my mood changes by the hour! Concentrating on work and hobbies keeps me occupied Smiley smile

Haha I try to sleep at night and I'm a roller coaster of emotions. "Omg I can't wait!" - *insert emotional physical reactions thinking of marrying FH - "omg I'm going to be so anxious walking down the aisle, am I going to throw up?" - "OMG we're really doing this!"

Totally!! Trying to sleep is when it gets the worst! Add in "what if/did I forget to ______?" Nothing snaps you out of falling asleep like obsessing over forgetting wedding details!

Have a little over a year to go...I'm sure I don't feel it as bad as you since I haven't been engaged as long...but I definitely feel it!!! I'm a first year English teacher (just started in January) so that has kept me busy for sure!

Enjoy it, I know it sounds like a broken record to hear that the day goes fast, but trust me, it does. I work as a bridal attendant on the weekends, and the way brides look at me when the night is over is a mixture of exhaustion and sadness. The last bride I worked with actually pouted. So enjoy the moments leading up to your day, do something special with your FS Smiley laugh
