Why’d you choose your venue

For me specifically I choose my venue based off of sentimental value. My grandma who raised me watched me graduate from this venue years ago. I wanted to honor her memory by getting married at a place where we shared a special moment together.

Ceremony is outdoors if weather permits and Reception is indoors. If it rains, we will just bring the ceremony inside.

My FH picked the restaurant as all their family functions are held there. Plus everyone knows where it is and they do Weddings all the time.

OP, that’s the sweetest reason so select your venue! My grandma is super special to me too!

The day after my husband and I got engaged we decided the city where we wanted to get married. We also knew right away we wanted to get married at a hotel—we’ve produced and attended many corporate events and concluded that hotels are used to hosting premiere events and unlike wedding factory venues, rely on repeat business. Typically any operation that relies on repeat business will deliver a higher quality product with higher quality customer service.
We initially thought we’d go with one resort that we’d stayed at several times before and loved. We knew we couldn’t book without doing a site visit, so we booked flights to do a one-day visit to our destination to do a formal tour. Since we were flying down, we figured we should book at least one other venue tour. I pretty much randomly selected a hotel I saw on WeddingWire I was unfamiliar with but whose sales coordinator was super nice to me through email comms.
Well we visited our “dream” venue, the catering manager was super rude to us, the backup rain location was hideous (and they made the rain call at 9 am for a 5 pm ceremony...in central Florida...) and the costs for guests weren’t ideal (they charged for parking for day and overnight guests and had a high resort fee and wouldn’t let us assume these costs for our guests to our master bill).
We had lunch, regrouped and visited venue number two. It was absolutely perfect. Sales girl was a total sweetheart. Every single event space was gorgeous. She could give our guests an insanely great room block rate. We felt comfortable and confident enough to sign a contract on the spot.
It was so so perfect! As we started interviewing and booking other vendors, multiple people kept telling us how amazing our hotel’s food was and they were sooo right! We couldn’t have been happier with our choice!

It was all-inclusive at the best all-inclusive price we had seen (and we got married in NYC, so some of those prices made you cry). It had great reviews under the current management. It had KILLER views - it was directly over the Hudson River, and you could see from the Statue of Liberty all the way up to across from Midtown.... and they didn't blink an eye when we asked if we could have a swordfight. (Also, they had floors you could fight on and clearance for said swords.)

We also kind of loved that you had to go through a parking garage and an ice rink to get to it. Because NYC.

Bonus for a small park next door for pictures, a bus stop nearby for local guests, and the aforementioned view meant we didn't really need a lot of decor.

My husband and I are renewing our vows for our 20th with a small group of family and friends. We wanted natural beauty, affordable and easy since it's out of state. I found an amazing outdoor location in the mountains with breathtaking views. The owner is a photographer so there are photo props everywhere including an antique tractor. So much is included in the venue cost like the decorations and bouquet. We literally just have to show up. I'm guessing the whole wedding will be no more than 1500 which includes the food and my dress. Friends who offered to take pictures, brother in law doing the service and a son who is in culinary school has been a huge help.

I love the sentiment behind your choice!

Ours is kind of boring haha. We chose ours because it offered us the most bang for our buck, but it was also the prettiest place we had seen, offered the most of what we wanted, and we got along well with the coordinator (which was REALLY important because we came across one that rubbed us the wrong way completely). Oh, and our venue's food is AMAZING.

Price is important too. Trust if my dream venue was too much we would have never been able to do it.

    You have a sweet reason.

I chose mine for the view, the bridal/groom suite, and the optional packages that we could add to cut down on the vendors we needed to find ourselves. The price was also not outrageous. We're only having about 60 guests, so we didn't need a $20k venue for the day. As for the view, we wanted a mountain wedding but didn't want the hassle of trying to plan something a thousand miles away... the venue we chose is at the top of a hill.

My dream venue would've been Cinderella's Castle in Walt Disney World, and that's $35,000...so we had to pass Smiley laugh . Cost is important!

We chose our venue because I have went to see so many most of the places were nice and seem beautiful. But then trying picture is and our guest the vision wasn't there and the feeling wasn't either plus the price CRAZY!!!. I happened to come across this venue on my IG. So we went there plus we want a outside ceremony as well and once we went inside and I fell instantly in love. Nice porcline floors the Chancelieres were gorgeous and I can see us in that venue and the price for both spaces was amazing

Yeah I've had 2 spaces where I didn't feel our wedding there and most of the things that we Inquiring about we had to pay a separate vendors and pay for a dance floors as well. This 1 that we have now when we booked them I got my dj half price because he comes with the venue space and she was super nice and gave us a lot of extra stuff and I have a decor rental spot that is tied to the space too and 50%off of anything we want to add. Super happy we have our own caterer
