Will a spray tan rub onto my dress?

Future Mrs. K, on April 4, 2019 at 10:11 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7

I've never had a spray tan before, only self tanner done by myself. When I have self tanned in the past, I would leave it on overnight and wear dark, loose clothing to sleep. It would transfer onto the clothes and my sheets but after showering in the morning, I've never had it rub off onto my clothes after that. I'm wondering if a spray tan works the same way? I'm wanting to get one probably two days before my wedding. If I left it on for 24 hours and then showered, would it transfer onto my white wedding dress 48+ hours after application? I will be doing a trial in a few weeks but wanted to ask other people's opinions too.

A spray tan would be very similar. If you follow their instructions and allow the proper amount of time for it to set, you'll be fine. I ended up not having the time to get one for my actual wedding, but I did have one for my bridal shower. My dress was blush pink lace, and not a single bit of my tan transferred. I had the spray tan done 2 days before and followed their directions to the letter. Most spray tan salons are pretty familiar with brides and as long as they know that's your case, they should be able to give you great instruction!

No, it won't. Assuming you're talking about an airbrush tan where an actual person sprays you as opposed to a spray booth, you'll be fine. Wait the recommended 24 hours before showering and you should be good to go!

I've had quite a few airbrush tans where I've worn white or another light color the next night after I showered and have never had a problem.

It's similar, but I've never had an issue with it rubbing off on my clothing etc. I would just make sure to do it around 3-4 days before your wedding for "safe measures." It will sort of wash off in the shower, but your skin will still be tan. A good spray tan should last long enough for your wedding and awhile afterwards.

I’ve never had this issue and I spray tan A LOT. I’m super pale lol. But yes, go do a trial if you can and I think doing it two days out will be a good amount of time for the color to set and any bronzer left over (the guide color) should be all washed off. Follow any directions they give you to the t. It’ll look great!

Hi! I'm a bridesmaid this weekend and it's going to be 110f/43c heat and I'm scared ! 😂 I'm in a white bridesmaid dress and I do need tan so I don't look like a vampire, my biggest worry is I'm going to sweat off the tan in that heat.
My reading above is a spray tan will work best, is that right ? What other tricks do people use !?

It'll be the same! Just make sure you rinse it all off really well and you'll be golden Smiley smile
