Will anyone actually see my shoes?

mrswinteriscoming, on June 24, 2021 at 8:29 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
I want to be comfortable on my wedding day so I bought 2 pairs of gold flats to match the gold crown I originally thought I was going to wear (I have sensitive feet so one was a backup in case the first caused blisters).
I have now decided on wearing a silver crown as it looks better since I am a blonde - the gold crown looked a bit lost in my hair.
I don't want to have to buy another pair of shoes but I'm worried it might look funny wearing gold flats when all my other accessories will be silver. My dress is floor length but I'm wondering - with movement, will my shoes actually be visible?

To be honest, no one looks at the bride's feet. Your shoes are also so far from the rest of your accessories, it should be fine.

Unless your dress is short or hits mid calf, no one will see your shoes. If you plan to switch from heels to flats, the dress needs to be altered for the flats or else you and your guests will trip on it. The 1-3” gap is not enough to be noticeable. Even if your guests do see your shoes, it isn’t something they will remember or care about 5 seconds after the fact.

It's floor length and I plan to be in flats all night. I was more thinking for when I bustle my dress and am dancing.

Mind you I guess I'd be a bit concerned if out of everything people are mostly concerned with my shoes not matching my crown!

I don’t think you need to worry because no one will notice or care one way or the other.

No. They won’t see your shoes. The only time (that my photographer caught) my shoes showed is when I turned really fast to get my bouquet at the end of the ceremony and when we walked in for our grand entrance because I was holding my dress up. I’m not even sure if my guests even noticed them.

I think it should be fine, especially if you have a biggish dress - the closer the silhouette to the body, more chance of seeing them, I think.

It's a fitted mermaid style gown so the bottom fills out a bit but it has a few layers of lace so it is quite intricate (hopefully distracting enough!)

Not only is it highly unlikely no one will see your shoes, but if they do, I personally love a mixed metals/tones look. I think it often comes off way more stylish than going too matchy.

If your dress is hemmed correctly and not a super fitted, column style (you said mermaid style with lace layers, so you have some volume at the foot) your shoes won't show unless you are walking. They might be a bit visible when the dress is bustled and you are dancing, but not noticeably so. Unless your shoes are super flashy (like sequined or heavily beaded or decorated with jewels in a way that will catch the light) I wouldn't worry about it!

Additionally your feet are as far away from your head as you can get, so I don't think an exact match would be necessary or noted.

People saw my shoes briefly whenever i hiked up my dress here and there but generally people don't notice shoes because the dress really does cover it
