Will your vendors be treated like guests? Or employees?

After watching the viral “wedding rules” TikTock video, I really loved her rule that vendors will be treated like guests! They will be sitting down and eating the same meal with all the guests, can help themselves to the open bar after they’re finished or when they are on breaks, are welcomed to take home a favor, etc. I was curious how many people plan to do this with their vendors? Will you be treating your vendors like guests, or do you expect them to perform their jobs as employees and leave when they are finished?

Oh for sure! In your situation, I would not have wanted that liability either!

Your last sentence absolutely nailed it (for us)! We know they are going to have a long day and are providing invaluable services for such an important day for us, we want to make sure they are well taken care of. Also, we are not having a formal event. It is definitely more of a laid back “party vibe” type of wedding, and our guest list is small now. So it would feel weird to me to have so few people there and then treat our vendors super professionally. If that makes sense lol I think we’d all feel a lot more comfortable having our photos and videos captured by someone who is just partying along with us. If we had stuck with our original 120+ guest list, it would probably be a completely different story though.

I love this! I bet they all really appreciated it. We definitely want our wedding to be one of the “fun jobs” our vendors work, rather than one they just can’t wait to be done with.

Yes, I definitely think that makes sense and you're totally right about the 'important' photos being done by that time of the evening!

I guess for us, it's in a restaurant, so there are all the catering/waitstaff there who I would have thought obviously wouldn't be allowed to partake even if we suggested it, because the restaurant owners mightn't let them. So, it's not like it's just the photographers or the band who will be treated the way you describe, which would definitely make it weird.
