Wine Unity Ceremony

FutureMrsHaven, on August 2, 2018 at 10:56 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 24
We met with our officiant yesterday and we decided to have a wine pouring unity ceremony. I’m super excited about it! Is anyone else doing a unity ceremony of some sort? I’d love to hear your plans!

Yea! They have a few different ways of doing it. Some people pour two types of wine into one glass and then drink from the same glass. She suggested we pour a red and a white into a carafe and then pour the blended wine into two glasses and toast to our new lives together.

We're not doing any special unity ceremony, just exchanging vows and rings.

We're doing the wine blending ceremony too! FH and I are "wine people" Smiley xd & no other ceremony seemed to fit our personalities better. Do you have the verbiage you want to go with it? Or does your officiant already have it ready?

We’re doing something very similar! We’re doing a beer unity ceremony. I’ll pour a light beer in a glass and fh will pour a dark beer on top so it’ll be a Black and Tan. Then we both drink from it

We’re doing the cord of three strands —- I ordered this from Etsy it juat Arrived on Monday! Well put it on an easel at the altar, unbraid it and then braid it again as the pastor recites Ecclesiastes 4:9.

Sounds terrific! We are doing something similar. I wrote a poem that a family member will be reading and the end of it is a toast where FH will pour a shot of whiskey for me to drink (a representation of him) and I will pour a small amount of wine for him to drink (to represent myself).

The wine appreciater in me has to point out that mixing wine is a major faux pas in the wine world.

That's a cool idea that I've never heard of 😊

I'm not sure what we're going to do. Neither of us are particularly religious; he's agnostic I'd say and I lean more towards witchcraft 😂 I would like to do something symbolic but sand and unity candles just aren't special to me. I've considered a hand fasting. I think it would align with my beliefs while not being too weird for him but we'll see!
