Wine & whiskey bottle center pieces?

Jessie, on March 27, 2021 at 8:57 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
Has anyone else done centerpieces out of wine & whiskey bottles? Please share pictures if you have! Have any tips?

I'm doing this project with my aunt and am looking for pictures for inspiration. I have this idea in my head but haven't seen any pictures like it. I'm going for a rustic/vintage vibe. I plan on spray painting them sage green, lavender, silver (maybe a deep purple too). Not sure about metallic or matte yet, or maybe a mix of both. They will be in sets of 3 bottles (I have this weird thing about 3s). I want to use pearls somehow, maybe by tying them around. I'm not sure if I'll have them standing on anything yet, but will probably do circular (not wood circles). The florist will do a mix of greenery, lavender, and lilies, with the table #s poking out of the bottles.

Here are some whiskey bottle centerpiece ideas. The first is a little more vintage than rustic in style though. But you could make adjustments. There are loads of wine bottle ideas on Pinterest.

Me, I did! Took off the label and spray painted them. When buying a bottle of wine I just made sure to buy one in the shape I wanted to keep them all uniform. Wine & whiskey bottle center pieces? 3

I haven't done this with wine/liquor bottles but I am fairly experienced with DIY projects.

Painting the inside of a bottle by shaking paint inside and then draining the excess is a super easy trick that I have done before. Really only usefull for single colors. You may need to do more than one coat of paint to fully cover all areas.
Spray paint can also work but your mileage may vary depending on the kind of paint and how well you clean and prepare the glass before painting. Some cans specify if they will work on glass or other smooth surfaces. There is an art to getting smooth layers of paint with no drips so allow yourself time and materials to practice and mess up. Masking tape works well to block off areas you want free of paint and can allow you to get more than one color on the same piece.

    Have fun!

These are mine. I started out using spray paint but I never liked the texture. It kept crackling, or was too shiny. So I tried aryclic paint by hand. I'm much happier with the results. I soaked the bottles, took off the table, and did a base coat white. I didn't want a uniform shape. So all of my bottles are of various shapes and sizes.

Funnily enough, I had been saving empty wine bottles for years for just that purpose! Then I got engaged and, with the person and our general wedding vibe, that idea just didn't quite work anymore. But I've worked weddings that have centerpieces like that and they've always looked really good! I wish I had pictures to share.

These are ours, whiskey and bourbon bottles painted with rust paint. Still trying to figure out what to put in them as my initial idea can't work.

Very cool! I hadn’t heard of rust paint before. What’s the decor/style of your wedding?
