Wine/burgundy color for spring wedding?

Anon1, on May 23, 2015 at 6:24 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

I absolutely love the color wine (merlot, burgundy, magenta, etc). However, we are getting married in early spring, so how can we make this color work?

I was thinking that pale blush accents might "spring" it up a bit - what do you think? Any other accent colors?

Also must match light gray, which is what I want the groomsmen to wear.

I think you're right on the money with the light pinks and maybe a cream color to lighten up the otherwise heavy burgundy.

ETA: I think it might be more "springy" to make pink the main color with burgundy accents but if you love it that's all that really matters.

I would do a dove grey, a soft pink and burgandy.. this way you have the soft pale spring colours, but a fun pop of the wine colour... wine is our wedding colour too! love it!

Yes, a blush pink would be great with a wine color. I'm going to a wedding in august with those same colors, plus gold.

I meant maroon not magenta earlier, FYI!

Thanks for the responses. Do you think these colors would work for a slightly vintage/rustic feel? We are still early in the planning process so I'm trying to nail everything down haha!

Yes to the soft pink and light grey. I would also consider ivory, and shades of green to lighten it up. Maroon/burgundy is one of my favourite colours too! I would go for it!

Yes! I think it sounds great for a vintage/rustic feel. Absolutely gorgeous!

And I really like the bouquet Cassidy posted--especially with the pop of green. Looks awesome.

Girl it's your wedding do what you want! You really don't need to follow the seasons color scheme kinda thing. I am getting married in Oct and my colors are coral and aqua Smiley smile The only opinion that should really matter is yours and your FH's...after all it is Y'ALL's day!
