Wished my FMIL a happy birthday...on the wrong day! Whoooooops.

Just in case anyone else is sick of the spamapocalypse, I thought I'd share a silly little story that just happened for a little breather. So I have the FILs' birthdays in my phone, and I had *thought* I got them directly from FMIL. I was so pumped and ready to be on everybody's birthdays this year, haha. Well, the date came for FMIL's birthday, and thinking I was being just a great FDIL (shame, shame...alas, pride comes before the fall, ha!), I texted her this nice long happy birthday message I knew would brighten her workday, and then proceeded to text FH to remind him to call her because his work schedule has been just insane recently. Then FMIL replied with a nice thank you text, and I felt even better. THEN FH texts me that it's not her birthday yet! She was just being nice to me by not correcting me. I was off by 3 days. So much for that great impression I thought I was making as a FDIL and FW! How did I get the wrong date in my phone?! I guess I'll never know.

HAHAHA I feel like this is TOTALLY something I would do. That's too funny -something that hopefully you can both always laugh about in the future. It's so hard to impress FMILs!

A few months ago FMIL came to visit us and took me out for a girls day - paid for mani/pedi, lunch, and even some clothes at GAP. She totally spoiled me and I was so grateful. Well, I had a coupon for a free flower delivery and decided I wanted to use it on her. I was so excited to send her flowers with a nice note thanking her for being so wonderful to me. Turns out the address that FH gave me to send flowers to her was her PO Box which she didn't check for another 3 days. A few days later she called me and was like "Thank you for the flowers, but I'd recommend that you never go with this place again - all of the flowers are dead!". Of course they were at that point... I was SO embarrassed! So much for trying to make a good impression!

@Kelly hahaha we are like the same person! I was laughing aloud reading your story because that is exactly something I would do! Lol I guess in both cases it's the thought that counts. Smiley smile Thanks for sharing! I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who's had an embarrassing experience with a FMILSmiley smile
