Wondering if i should distribute masks at Sept. wedding

Our wedding got moved from May 2020 to this September due to CoVID. We are considering distributing masks at our wedding to make guests feel more comfortable if they choose to wear one. Just wondering if other people are doing the same or if anyone has had a recent wedding with guests wearing them....

Thank you for the idea! FH & I seriously discussed this after reading this post yesterday, and I even had one person suggest travel hand sanitizers for guests prior.

The challenge has been finding affordable face masks. I saw an ad from Old Navy today that has cute variety packs of cloth masks:

    https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=1157699

I also found this company that sells hand sanitizer in 2 oz bottles that seems legit and reasonable:

    https://pipettebaby.com/products/travel-hand-sanitizer

They have larger bottles and pumps available if you need those too.

And I found these cute labels on Etsy that can be personalized:

We will be providing masks to ppl if they would like to wear one to feel more comfortable. Our wedding is outside but will have our reception under a tented area.

We are including them in our welcome bags (if they want them and it’s mandated) we found cloths masks at a reasonable cost and will custom imprint them to make them “fun” for the wedding.

EXACTLY. Having masks as an option defeats the point of the masks. I would say have the masks as mandatory, or not at all.
Good luck! Masks are going to be mandatory inside public places in IL until there’s a vaccine.

If you make it a requirement, who would be enforcing that the masks stay on? I see it all the time at places that require masks... people come in but then take it off, have it under their chin, etc.

Not in IL. It’s mandated by the state. You cannot be inside at a public place without a mask.

    You’re in Ohio. It’s a “suggestion” to wear a mask. That’s a lot different than a law

I didn’t say she was. I said I was. It’s enforced here because it’s a law. I don’t know what’s going on in other states where it’s optional. The whole mask wearing thing is an absolute mess though, with it being different in different states.
Like it didn’t cross my mind that people would just take their masks off, when you can’t here. You know what I mean? But yeah if it’s optional where she’s at, unless you’re willing to kick people out, it would be tough for sure. All of our weddings have been (or will be) tough. Frustrating and difficult times for sure

Yes, Ohio might follow suit but the governor said we aren’t there yet. The daily average numbers continue to increase though.

Hi Kelly, I am an August bride in PA. Just thought I would give background on our situation and hope it helps for yours! We are following our venue guidelines, which is in line with our state. Masks are required for our guests when they move about indoors, but not required at dinner. We rearranged cocktail hour to be outdoors with tent and guests may return outdoors after dinner. I ordered masks with our names on them available for all guests. Put on our website guests are welcome to bring their own or use those provided. One reason I did get masks was for my own piece of mind knowing none of our guests will be turned away if they forgot. I also ordered wristbands in our wedding color should a guest want others to know they are social distancing with a little poem I wrote (hopefully my photos come through ok!) Hope this helps!!! ❤️Wondering if i should distribute masks at Sept. wedding 1

I am an ER BSN, RN and I will not be distributing masks, I mean do whatever you feel you need to make you comfortable; but this is an airborne virus and standard surgical masks only do so little.

I live in PA. The wedding is October 10th. I am providing hand sanitizers. but not masks right now. A wedding should be love. Hugs. And kisses. I hope our guests will understand and take caution themselves.

I’m in GA and masks are not required here. I feel like we should have them available for guests if they feel more comfortable.

I bought 120 bottles from bath and body works. They have adorable tiny bottles. You are limited to two bags (bags have 5 bottles each) of each scent. I bought the maximum amount of each bottle, and had my sister also place an order and I reimbursed her. Now we have plenty of sanitizer for the wedding lol Smiley smile
