Wooden Guestbook Sign - Best Pens

KDoubleU, on August 1, 2017 at 10:26 AM Posted in Style and Décor 1 20

Hey all!

For those who use or plan to use a wooden sign as their guest "book" for guests to sign, what pens did you use or recommend? We would love something clean and sharp, not necessarily as fat as would be if we use a sharpie. White ink preferred. Google is not helping me out!

Just for reference, this is the one we purchased:

Thank you in advance!

Etsy is showing "no result" for the item you posted so you might be better off posting a picture of it. My suggestion would be to contact the seller on Etsy and ask her her/his recommendation as they would know best.

ETA: Amazon has a lot of white ink pens. Pentel may have what you are looking for.

I can't see what you bought, but you might try a white paint pen too.

Woops! Just checked and the shop is closed for all of August so that explains that! Thanks for letting me know. Here is a screen grab of what we bought.

Thanks for the recommendations, we were thinking a fine point paint pen but didn't know if there were preferred brands. Thanks!!

Micron pens are what our seller recommended for our wooden hearts for our guest book, sharpies will work but they might bleed. The Micron pens works AMAZING, they are a little pricier then other pens but well worth it!! Smiley smile

@samantha, it looks like the wood is stained so the sharpies shouldn't bleed.

We got a white, black, and silver fine tipped sharpie and it worked fantastically!

They didn't bleed or smudge at all.

We made ours, but it's similar. The names and heart is acrylic paint. We had people use sharpies to sign.

We are using jenga pieces. Sharpies work great. Jenga pieces aren't finished and they haven't bled, yet. We tested it out.

We bought sharpie paint pens. The Etsy seller sent a separate piece stained wood to test markers on.

Did the sharpie paint pens fade over time at all? did you use a clear top coat? if so, what brand? We have a similar idea for the guest book, just using a whiskey barrel lid instead and getting it engraved.

I’m just coming across this post. Our wedding is this weekend and we also have a whiskey barrel lid as our guest book. Just wanted to see what you ended up using for pens. Thanks! Smiley smile

Same. I am just coming across it and looking for recommendations of best pen/marker to use. I am planning to use a wooden cross.
