Wording for a self-made voucher

Chloe, on August 9, 2021 at 4:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
Friends of mine are getting married in two weeks and our group of friends decided to gift them a voucher for a long weekend in a glam treehouse. All of us would come as well, I guess we're gifting time more than anything else because in the last couple of years life has always gotten in the way and we don't meet as often as we used to. We would also offer a romantic dinner for the two of them (incl. us 6 as childminders), so that they could also spend some time as a couple. I'm really struggling with the wording, I don't know how to nicely convey all of it in a voucher... We're leaving it up to them to pick a date, so we have nothing "physical" that we could hand over. We wanted to design it as a letter in a bottle, but I'm stuck writing it. Any help would be really appreciated!

Maybe you can give them a card and put hints inside of where the long weekend would be and have them guess? (If its guessable). I did that for my husband before and surprised him with a trip to the Bahamas - I included a picture of the flag, the beach, and a boat because it was a cruise)

I gave my parents a trip to Gulf Shores Alabama for Christmas, and made it into a book. One page said, "you are going here!" with pictures of the place. The next page said, "with these people!" with a picture of me and my brothers. The next page said, "to do this!" and then pictures of people on the beach, swimming, eating, drinking, etc. You get the idea lol.

I love Samantha's suggestion!! Smiley heart

I'd definitely include a picture if you can, and an explanation saying that you guys are "treating them to a long weekend away at a glam treehouse" - "you pick the date, and we'll be there ready to spend quality time together AND to provide some much-needed childcare!"
