Wording on the Invitation

Cathy, on June 19, 2019 at 11:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
My fiancé and I are getting married on a friend’s yacht. The wedding party and the immediate family will be seated aboard the boat (which will be docked), and the other guests will either be on the dock or on the levee facing the boat. (We haven’t decided yet).

I am am wondering how to word the invitations: I was think of something like this: (shortened for space- actual invite will be written out longhand)

”Together with their families, CMM and MDB request the honor of your presence as they unite in marriage on Saturday, 10-12/2019 at 12:30 pm”
Here is where I have the question:
should I put “...aboard the motor yacht XYZ” or should it say at “ABC Marina.” The first one sounds like everyone will be on the boat, and the second one just sounds impersonal. The reception will be at the yacht club on site.
Ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hey Cathy! Congratulations on your engagement! I think it would be better to go with the second option, ‘at ABC Marina’ so that your guests are not expecting to be onboard for your ceremony. It will avoid any confusion on the day.

Your wedding sounds amazing by the way!!

I agree. Go with the second option. I don't think it sounds impersonal. It lets them know where it is being held without implying your guests will be joining you on the yacht.
