Working out with the bridesmaids

Liza, on June 4, 2022 at 10:42 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 9

I am thinking of maybe getting into shape with my maid of honor and bridesmaids. Is that something that is strange to do or something that might actually be a good idea?

My MOH wanted to go vegan for a month and I was opposed lol However, we are doing this 1 month ‘glow up challenge’ together. I don’t think it’s strange at all. If it’s something you want to do go for it. Working out with the bridesmaids 1

O this is amazing sorry I just saw this. I kind of put the wedding planning on hold for a little and wasn’t checking this app but now i am back and ready. But thank you for this suggestion of a one month glow up challenge i might use it.

This depends. Is your MOH and/or bridesmaids voicing their desire to work out/get in shape? If so, then I don’t see why this would be strange at all. However, if they have not expressed that desire to you, I wouldn’t Force it on them or say anything that would make them feel as though you are insinuating they need to drop some pounds

If you normally all work out together, I think it's fine, but if there is even a hint of "hey, do you want to work out together in preparation from my wedding?", I think there's a chance that could come off wrong.... Like, "I want you to look better for my wedding...." That's probably not at all your intention, but some people could interpret it that way and potentially be insulted. In casual conversation you can always share your new work out routine (if you would normally talk about that kind of stuff with these friends) and if they are interested, leave it up to them to say so.

    I think it's a great idea!

it's always nice to be able to work out with an exercise buddy - i always find it more motivating that way

If you're all cool with it then I say go for it! Making suggestions about health and fitness can be a difficult needle to thread, but it sounds like you're all up for it, so you're good! Having someone to hold you accountable is always a great motivator!

I agree with this. If everyone already works out and you want to make it more of a bonding experience, I don't think they would be upset, but you would have to be super caution with how you address asking them so that they don't feel offended.
