Workout Wednesday!

Formal Pajamas, on August 31, 2016 at 9:24 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 10

I went to a cardio/kickboxing/mixed martial arts class last night.

I almost died.

On the upside, I'm down 7 lbs!

I try and avoid a scale for a lot of reasons and only focus on how I feel, but i wanted to see where I was.

How has the weekend/week been treating you?!

I gained a few pounds on honeymoon and I'm feeling motivated to work out, just trying to find a new class that's right for me, including schedule and location. That cardio/kickboxing/mixed martial arts class sounds pretty epic (and intense)!

    Edit - typos

HA- I was totally going to do this- and hadn't gotten that far- thanks Bryce!!!!

I'm off my lifting schedule because of how crazy the weekend was- which means I have to squat back to back Monday/Thursday- when I normally get 3 days rest between squats.

I'm.NOT.happy- but whatever. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Monday was good- fast but good.

Tuesday- I managed to get a 7 min HIIT workout in (YESSSSSSSSSSSS) and then we did a lot of dance movement for our technique class- and then we did our full warm up rotation (about 25-30 minutes of intense stretching/holding poses) after we got the blood flowing- so that was good- i felt good about that.

Today- is another squat day since Monday was carry over from Friday's workout- me officialy lifting week starts today- so today is Monday- squat bench squat day.

I may be able to catch up and lift tomorrow if I get to work early enough- and it's Deadlift day.

    I fucking love deadlift day.

    Congrats on the 7 lbs!!!

The number on the scale hasn't changed for me but my waist is down 1/2" from 3 weeks ago. It's something! I do a small group circuit training class and we do cardio in 5-minute segments. My goal has been to hit 1100 meters on the rower. Yesterday I got to 1065 so I was pretty stoked.

So I had an idea- not sure how you guys feel about it- A built up weekly HIIT workout-Something like :

    Monday- jog in place

    Tuesday-push ups/modified push ups

Wednesday- Jog in place+ push ups+ Alternating lunges

Thursday- Jog in place +push ups + alternating lunges + plank

Friday- jog in place + P/U + Lunges + Plank + Bridge lifts

    Saturday- Jog + p/u + lunges + plank + bridge lifts + burpees

    Sunday- Rest.

You would just do each for one minute (or rather 50 second of work and 10 second of rest)

It's not going to get you in crazy shape- but it's SOMETHING and by Saturday- its' only 6 minutes of work. if you're feeling saucy you can repeat it.

Thanks for this thread Bryce! Its such a great idea.

I did a lower body plyo workout on Saturday and I'm still sore and could barely walk on Sunday. I always take a rest day on Sundays but I used it as an excuse to blow off the gym Monday and barely push myself yesterday for arms. I have shoulders and HIIT today and I really need to push myself. Here's to hoping I don't fall off the treadmill LOL

@Jo - I was thinking of setting my alarm a few minutes early to do something like that! Allow me to save it

Congratulations! It takes a lot to lose 7lbs Smiley smile Keep up the great work!

I have been feeling really junky the last couple weeks...I have been taking Prime Energy from Complete Nutrition. Realizing that is probably what has been making me feel like shit... I felt jittery, yet exhausted. I always felt just nauseous. Because I hadn't been feeling great, I've put on a couple pounds. Some of it is bloat (I can just see it in my stomach). Yesterday and today, I woke up early and got a great 30 minute workout in. Last night, I did weights for 30 minutes and intend to do the same tonight. Getting back on track! Gave up the Prime Energy and will just go back to my old routine Smiley smile Added in Kachava shakes the last couple days for meal replacement as well. Can't wait to start feeling better!

I haven't been working out at all but I'm thinking of starting up pure barre again. Part of me thinks I should do a week or two of solid cardio first to get ready, but part of me just wants to jump in... i dunno...

    Congrats on the 7lbs!

Sunday I went for my 7KM run but ended up destroying my Achilles tendon and now I'm a bit of gimp so no running for me for the next while (until after phsyio), so I'll probably stick with cycling, walking, and eventually stair climbing for now Smiley sad.
