Worried about my veil catching on the aisle during ceremony

Ingrid, on June 4, 2018 at 8:57 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
So I bought my viel forever ago (pictured above), and it’s very thin, delicate, sheer tulle. I didn’t even think about it catching on the stone/concrete aisle during the ceremony until someone brought it up. I’m trying to brainstorm ways to avoid it catching and falling out or ripping. Here’s one plan I came up with: my sister (also my maid of honor) could hold it up behind me as I walk down the aisle. My FH’s best man is his dad, so he could walk down with my FH’s mom. then it’ll all evened out. What do y’all think of this idea? are there any better strategies for making sure my veil doesn’t catch? Did anyone else have this problem at the ceremony???

Could you do an aisle runner to protect your veil?

I thought about that, but I also heard that those are slippery and easy to trip on. Are you using one in your wedding?

Love the veil! I think an aisle runner would work well! Maybe just do some research.

Do you have a flower girl? If so, maybe she can carry your veil. The little boys carrying Meghan Markles were so cute!! If not, your sister carrying it would be reminiscent of Pipa and Kate. Hey, if it's good enough for the royals.......

PS - I would be worried about tripping on the runner too

I like the aisle runner idea, but see if you could secure it tightly so it doesn't bunch. Maybe do a trial walk with your veil on at the venue.

Personally - id rather have my veil rip, or fall out than have someone walking behind me holding it up. That person is going to be in all your photos of you walking down the aisle and I wouldnt want that.
