Worst bridesmaid gifts?

So, I've been following the thread about what kinds of bridesmaids gifts other ladies are giving. Still haven't completely made up my mind yet, but it did get me thinking about bad bridesmaid gifts I've gotten. The worst was when my cousin got married. We each got a cheap generic tote bag...

Still haven't completely made up my mind yet, but it did get me thinking about bad bridesmaid gifts I've gotten. The worst was when my cousin got married. We each got a cheap generic tote bag (absolutely no customization, and mine came complete with an already broken zipper!) filled with industrial sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner. So, let's hear it ladies... what's the absolute worst, tackiest gift you ever received as a bridesmaid?

Just wanted to say thanks to Elizabeth for posting her rant. WW is making me freak out and think there is no way I can possibly do enough for my girls. I'd LOVE to be able to to buy their dresses, which one them did for me for her wedding, but I just cannot afford that. This anxiety so far from my wedding about such a minute detail is not productive for me.

ETA: I LOVE the scrapbook idea Elizabeth!

@GreatNewHites Glad I helped someone. I spent WAY too much money on my BMs. I bought over $250 in fabric/supplies and made them personalized large purses (I didn't DIY at all for my wedding so that should tell you something). I put stuff in there for an emergency kit. I bought their dresses. We rent out a B&B for them to stay at with me the night before the wedding. I spent way too much money, and I kept freaking out that I wasn't doing "enough".

WW forum has been great for relieving stress for somethings, but other things like whether I had bought enough alcohol or my BM gifts were "good enough" stressed me out SO MUCH more than I think I would have if I wasn't as active on the forums. This is one of those things to simply let go. It's a nice gesture. Something small and an earnest thank you. Don't stress over it.

Elizabeth...THANK YOU. Reading other posts, I've been starting to freak out that I'm not doing enough. I'm buying their dresses since they will be in mismatched turquoise dresses and I wanted to be positive they were the right general shade of turquoise (glad I did it, one I ordered was mint green and another was blue. Ugh!). Planning to also buy earrings and tumbler style cups for them. I agree with you 100%...it wasn't something I was even worried about until I started reading on here. THANK YOU!!!

I loved all the gifts I've gotten... but I do have 1 funny story:

For FSIL's wedding, FMIL put together cute little bags for everyone with emergency kit type stuff. Really cute, unexpected, and everyone loved them! As I was going through what was included in mine I pulled out wipes...FMIL meant to buy makeup remover wipes but instead accidentally bought umm "personal feminine wipes" if you know what I mean Smiley smile I thought it was hysterical and told FH and because he loves to annoy his mom he told her and she was mortified. I still think it's hysterical Smiley smile

I have been in 4 weddings and only ever received 1 gift and it was day of jewelry that was brown.

For my girls I got them each a clutch in their favorite color and a pair of earrings in their favorite color or a color I know they wear often. I got it all at Charming Charlie's on sale for a ridiculous price. However, all of us shop there already so while I did feel a bit bad about giving them "costume jewelry", I got over it. I also put together little mini mimosa kits.

For my BM who threw my bachelorette (spent WAAAAAAAY more money than I wish she had) and ALSO did our cake for free, I slipped a 75 dollar gift card to a nice restaurant she and her husband like.

One of my BM's could not pay for her dress, so I covered that low key. It was only 60 bucks, but it is a dress that she could wear again if she wanted to (simple black dress).
