Worst wedding ever!

JN, on May 19, 2018 at 1:49 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20
I only attended one wedding in my intire life and that was way back when I was still 16 years old and I only realised how bad is it when I found WW 😬

unfortunately it’s happened to be my older sisters’s wedding I was one of the BMs and everything is horrible! The day started with a storm actually it lasted the whole night, the make up artist is just pretending his a pro lol😂 he doesn’t made any one not even the bride feels beautiful or special for that day, the car that transported us to the venue stinks! (I’m feeling sick at that time and wanted to throw up so bad) when we arrived only few people attended the ceremony, the reception is upstairs at the 4th floor (no elevator) so when we finally climbed up the stairs to our surprise every one is already having a feast! Without the newlywed??! (I didn’t know people are soooooo rude) there’s no head table or anything for the wedding party so everyone needs to find a vacant sit ( I found a sit with my dad’s old friends) before I can even sit the power went out🤦‍♀️ The caterer is grooms family friends so they served those tables whose people they knew ( our family and few friends didn’t even enjoy few bite of the food) my parents are soooo embarrassed I know and while the couples are enjoying cake cutting, toast, money dance and stuff there’s a commotion at the kitchen the caterer reportedly said someone stole the whole roasted pig!!?( it’s part of the tradition here in the Philippines to serve whole roasted pig “lechon” during special occasions) until now we don’t know who really stole it🤔 so at the end of the night we went home tired and hungry we did order from fast food for late night dinner and to top it all when we get back all the pictures from the photographer it was awful! Because there’s no power the whole night photos are all blurry and black ( I don’t think his even a pro) so after a decade It’s still the worst ever

how about you guys what is your worst wedding experience?

I just said that because I only saw there’s a lot of etiquette and rules here that I don’t think people follow in different side of the world

Apparently she didn’t attend to any other weddings after her sister’s. And I’m not sure about other people, but I don’t go back and think about weddings I’ve been to when I was younger, I can see how the whole things could be back to life now that OP is planning her own wedding and researching here. Good thing she found WW. A lot of people don’t realize the simple etiquette rules one should follow.

I don’t really have a horror wedding story. My cousin got married when I was much younger and I remember being awkward between the families (she married because she was pregnant - again, I don’t agree but we were on our teens and she didn’t really fight the decision at the time, I’m glad it worked out and they are happily together to this day) - the wedding vibe was more of a funeral than a wedding but we had plenty of food and I remember drinks flowing & a dance floor.

Geez, that sounds bad. Last May we went to a wedding with the food, no booze, ipod DJ, and not enough tables for the guests. My horror moment was when I went to the bathroom and the door of it wasn't long enough to cover you! The BP also got ready in the bathroom and left their stuff everywhere, including flammables neae candles!

Yeah I’m thankful I found this forum, we will be having our wedding in the US and I know how different it’s going to be compared here.

glad to hear about your cousin’s happy marriage my sister’s also had a successful marriage with 4 kids now. I think no matter how horrible the wedding is it’s still and always a marriage that counts.

She was a kid. And probably didn’t think much about it until reading about etiquette on here.

That had to be very devastating for the bride and groom. I would have been in tears. Everything you can think of went wrong. I’m sorry your 1st wedding was such a disaster and to top it of, it was your sisters wedding. I hope you get the opportunity to experience a wedding with less havac. There is something that goes with within every wedding but that was a shame. But at the end of the day your sister got married through it all and I guess that’s all that really matters.

That doesn’t sound like a good time. Hopefully your sister is happy about her marriage. (not so much focus on the wedding)

    😂😂
Well, I like this post. It’s a good reminder to all of us future brides who are getting caught up in the little details that it’s the big picture, our future husbands and marriages, that matter. So great to know that even after such a less than ideal wedding day, your sister and brother in law have a great marriage and children. 😊💞

That does sound like an unfortunate event. I am sorry she wasn't able to enjoy a better organized day. Hopefully, you will be able to use the experiences from your sister's wedding to plan an amazing day for your wedding!
