Worst wedding you’ve ever been to...

Ever been to a wedding that you were glad when it ended so you could leave? What makes a wedding not enjoyable? Or was there anything that made you annoyed?

The worst was my cousin's wedding. She got married at a shooting range. During the outdoor ceremony, you could hear gunshots in the background!

Worst wedding I've been to is my cousin's wedding. They had it at our church (which was fine) but it was how she had been treating my cousin leading up to the day and during the reception that turned me off from it. He wasn't really allowed to talk to anyone and had to stay right by her side. She didn't actually want to have the wedding because none of her family could come. It was understandable that she was upset but it showed that she didn't want to be there. They also had minimal food that guests were responsible for providing for the potluck. 0 dance floor or music. So it was mainly people chatting amongst themselves then leaving after dinner.

One wedding was in a PACKED hall. You couldn't get to your seat unless the person behind you was totally pushed into the table. You felt like you couldn't leave your seat without inconveniencing people. I felt bad for them because the AC broke, and it was a scorching hot summer day. Thankfully they had beer to keep me cool!

My cousins wedding when I was 16 was one of the worst. I was standing up in the wedding, I had to wear this big poofy bright red dress it was uncomfortable; but no big deal it's her day. I found out I get motion sickness from sitting sideways in the limo, 1st time riding in one. Get to the reception, the bride my cousin gets wasted at the wedding falls on the dance floor and hits her head. The DJ also had karaoke and that was just not a good idea for the crowd. The groom also punched out his best man.

I hate to say it but it was a family members. The ceremony was about 1&1/2hrs.
I was young and I thought I was gonna lose my mind. They showed a video before the ceremony(about 15 min long), another one during (over 10 min long) and after they walked down the isle(about 10 min long). All videos were like slideshows of pictures of them, some had some talking in it, some even with the bride singing. It was so long. Then we went to a gym with very little ac so it was super hot, small finger foods, and mints. Everyone was sweaty and gross. And to make it worse the bride hated me (this was my cousin and I loved him to death and she hated me From what I understand it was cause I was “threatening”...I was 8 and he helped my mom raise me as my dad just walked out on me as a baby. So I was very attached to him.) so when I went to say congratulations she turned her back to me and grabbed my cousin and said it’s time for the garter, cake cutting then to leave. I asked my mom to go home cause I was heart broken.
my family still talks about it to this day about how it was so long and just too much. I will never forget that wedding.

Holy cow! What an exciting day...if not precisely magical...

I remember my cousins wedding she got BOMBED. Aaaand made overtly sexuality explicit comments.

My brother was recently at a wedding where a guy (ironically) blew out his knee during the song "Timber." Luckily there was an emt and nurse at the wedding as well

Lol!!! Yeah it was interesting and to note the reception went to like 11 PM this all occurred before 9 PM. After the punch out my parents made us leave because they were concerned about the reception getting umm raunchy lol. They are semi conservative, better now and I was only 16 so you know. They bribed me with pizza to leave, I had finally gotten over my motion sickness but had hardly touched my dinner because of it.

One wedding the bride was 2 hours late to the ceremony. The reception food was tacos in the church parking lot.

Another there was one bartender for 200+ people and then they closed the bar after 1 hour. Then the DJ unceremoniously shut off the music at 9:55pm and the MOB started asking all guests to help take the chair sashes off and carry gifts to the car.

Another was a DW that the parents of the groom forced my family to go to by guilting them into it. We had to pay for travel, hotel for 5 people, a gift, and extra fees to have my dog at the hotel because we couldn't find a sitter on late notice, oh and it was a shotgun wedding.

TL;DR Have food for your guests, have drinks for you guests, have entertainment for your guests, and don't force your guests to do anything for your wedding but attend and have fun.

Honestly haven't been to a really bad one. I've def been to ones thatre so packed in space. I did go to one that miffed me. She made the seating where she split families up can you believe that?! She split my parents up from me and my brother. My brother and I were also split up. She did that to every family because she wanted everyone to seat according to their age ranges. That was so bad, no one listened to it because it's weird for people to not sit with who they came with.

People were falling asleep. It was so bad.
Ours will be about 15-18 min it’s not religious just mainly about love. It’s a DW so it will just be simple and sweet so we can take LOTS of pictures!!

I definitely plan on having open seating. I will however have a kids table with some activities and extra snacks for whoever wants to use it.

Only tacos. No drinks, no rice, no beans. Just tacos. People were hungry.

Worst wedding was one of my close childhood friends. Her mom put together the entire thing. The bride was really not interested and it was evident. I think it was "bad" because of the guest list. Nobody knew each other and barely knew the couple. It was a big expensive wedding for the mob to show off. It started an hour late, the reception was 25 minutes across town and once we got there, cocktail hour went on for over 2 hours. 50% of people just bailed at that point, so the reception dinner was full of empty chairs. Needless to say, the marriage lasted 6 months and the bride's parents are STILL paying off the 2nd mortgage they took on the house to pay for it.

I’ve been to two. The bride was over an hr late to the wedding in the park at 12 noon during at super hot Atlanta summer with no shade or drinks.
Another one where the wedding was at least 45 mins late starting not because the bride was late but because her soon to be sister in-law never tried on her strapless dress after getting it so it didn’t fit right and was very close to her boobs coming out the minute she walked down the isle. We had to hand sew the detachable spaghetti straps from another BM dress to her’s to keep her dress somewhat up.

    1) A wedding in Phoenix... in the summer... at noon. It was 120 outside. We sweated getting in/out of the car while going from hotel to wedding. Fortunately, ceremony/reception inside but all I can remember was the heat.
