Of course it looks like I will be on cycle day 2 on wedding day. It is not till august so I am praying it shifts and I get it earlier and end up on day 3. the first 2 days I have severe cramps.. I am contemplating changing date but sadly may lose a ton of money and things are all booked as is.. not...

I had my period during my wedding and it wasn't a big deal. My DOC was on top of it and even scheduled tampon change breaks into her version of the timeline. My bridesmaids helped me lift up my dress when necessary and I took Advil a couple of times throughout the day just in case. Unless your periods are unbearable, I wouldn't change your wedding date

I certainly did! Maybe if you're worried about having your period on your wedding, you can meet with your OB to discuss things?

My period was really reliable until I was planning the wedding, and then it just went HAYWIRE from stress.

I wouldn't try to move everything, because it can completely shift.

Also, if you think you have endo, *talk to your doctor*.

Another voice here for talking to you your doctor - especially if you think you have endo.

Have you tried Aleve for the pain? I also have very painful periods, and I find it addresses pain and other symptoms much more effectively than Tylenol or Advil.

SO horrible! Are you on blood thinners? No one warned me when I started taking them that they would have such a huge affect on my cycle! Much much much heavier flow on them! And even worse cramps.

I would use extreme caution when drinking with Advil (or NSAIDs in general)! It can cause stomach bleeding. And if you are on blood thinners because of your clotting factor, it makes this extremely dangerous! (you should avoid NSAIDs with blood thinners, regardless of alcohol as well). Tylenol is a safer choice if you will be drinking.

That's the one downside, if you get a bigger dose of painkillers, you probably won't be able to drink because you can't mix the two. It's a tough call!

I would just take birth control to regulate my period. I've done it before for vacation

I think talking to your OB-GYN about birth control is an easier and less expensive option. No need to stay on birth control long term if it isn't your plan, but your doctor can prescribe you a month's worth to take in the weeks leading up to the wedding to stop your period. It's actually an incredibly common ask.

I picked mine based off my period. Not to give tmi, but I would be so uncomfortable. I would see if they had other dates available. But it also depends on your cycle. Mine is a no go!

A lot of people take the day off for weddings so I think you would have a lower attendance changing the date.

I wouldn't, because it's so uncertain, but I totally hear your pain.

I got mine late 2 months in a row and looking ahead on my cycle app it said my period would be right in the middle there on our wedding day because of that delay, and I was thinking what a nightmare! But then I had a normal 'on time' month and this month was 4 full days early so it's back to not being on our day after all. I'm expecting this to go back and forth in the lead up to the day because yay, right?

You say you can't take birth control but I do think there is a pill your doctor can prescribe to hold off your period for a few days/week, maybe you can speak to them about this? I'd definitely see what the options were if I were you!
