I agree that you're marrying the person, not the ring. But you have to wear the ring for the rest of your life (unless you get an upgrade at some point) so it's best if you like it.

Yep it’s cool. He actually wanted me to pick out a ring that I would like or love.

Absolutely not. I don't really wear jewelry, so my husband was completely confused what to do. I ended up picking out my ring. However, if he had chosen one I didn't like, I'd just let him know and we'd have kept it as a family heirloom for down the line. It's still be my ring - I just wouldn't have worn it past the engagement.

I love my ring. It is similar to what I would have picked, but it wouldn't have been the exact one I would have picked, but I love this one even more because he took time to design it and it showed me that he cared about doing something for me.

I would never decline if I didn't like the ring.

I love my engagement ring, its gorgeous. But there is one thing I would change about it. I would have put it on a plain band instead of side stones. That way I would have had more options for a wedding band. However, FH picked it out himself so I like it as is. I wouldn't decline a marriage proposal if I didn't like the ring.

I mentioned the ring tattoos as well and FH said no. He is a carpenter and I’m a nurse so we both use our hands a lot at work and prefer to have our fingers free. I wash my hands a million times a day and FH builds houses out in the sun all day (both of which probably aren’t good for a tattoo either).

We may get a silicone ring to wear during work if it becomes problematic.

I love my ring! I really hoped to get one with emeralds rather than diamonds but the center diamond belonged to his great grandmother so it's very special. The band is called a petite twist band and has small diamonds along it. I didn't want a cookie cutter ring so it was perfect. I wouldn't have said no if I didn't like the ring. He'll, I would have said yes if he offered me a rubber band. Lol

Of course not! It is not about the ring its about getting to marry the person that you love, your best friend. I have always told my FH that even if he would have proposed with a ring pop I would most definitely say yes. As long as I got to marry him I didn't care what it looked like.

My husband said no because neither of us has tattoos and he doesn't think that we should. He has two rings, a fancy diamond studded one that he wears on the weekend, and a titanium one that he wears to work.
