Would you donate to this GoFundMe wedding?

I know 99.9% of the time, GoFundMe weddings are laughable, but what about this? Still not a good reason? http://m.palmbeachpost.com/news/news/national/tenn-couple-starts-gofundme-page-second-wedding-be/nmpBP/

I think medical bills are probably a huge factor in why they can't save $5k in a year or two. Plus she may not be working..

No. I have personally known 2 people who had traumatic brain injuries from accidents and never had a normal life again. One died. Maybe I am cold-hearted, but I am not even moved by this type of memory loss.

So if you have huge medical bills and she's not working why would a wedding be priority #1?

It's really sad that she can't remember her wedding, but trying to re-create it is just sad in a different way. it won't get back what she lost.

I would. I actually just did. Is it necessary for them to have another wedding? Nope, but after what they've been through if I can give a little to help them make those memories again I don't mind.

I think it is a sweet gesture, I'm so happy people are helping him make this a reality. I can't imagine not knowing my wedding day.

I'm shocked you guys would give $5 to a wedding, but not take $5 and drop it off at a food bank.

Not saying you wouldn't, but talk about a better use of money.

Also, their wedding was a year ago. I highly doubt they don't have a million photos of the wedding, and maybe even some video.

But you don't go around donating to everyone who has Alzheimers, or even an Alzheimers foundation, and they can't even remember the person they're married to.

Snarky: it might be a huge factor when it comes to the healing process, which I'm guessing is a huge priority.

$5,000 won't get them much in South FL. This definitely won't be a fancy re-do

I find it a bit strange that he states that her memory loss goes back five weeks before the wedding and they only started planning then. They planned their first wedding in only five weeks?

If anyone's FH doesnt want them to get a videographer just show them this gofundme. i'm hoping the video will make it seem like the wedding was even better than it was so that's how i want it remembered

If I knew them personally yes I would donate. There are so many scams on donation sites that who knows where your money is truly going.

No. It's a terrible tragedy, but she is married to the person she loves, the person who supports her and that's the point of a wedding.

There are far better ways to use discretionary money.

I think it's sweet and out of all the GoFundMe weddings, I would definitely pick this one as least tacky. However, I hope they include a line in their invitation asking that guests don't bring a gift since the accident didn't erase all the presents they have in their house from their first wedding.

No, I'd be more likely to if it was a hometown story or for an actual fundraiser. Can I secretly wish this happened to me, so I could redo my wedding??? Is that terrible to say ? I wouldn't ask for money, but I'm sure DH wouldn't allow me to have everything we had either.

Awww Jillian! You can get your own re-do in the future as a vow renewal if you want!

I still don't get it. It's not like it's not something they can't work for and make happen themselves. His description says he is trying to raise this so they can "comfortably afford it with what he is making."

Sweet of them to have another wedding but I'll never donate to a gofundme wedding

I just find it gross when there are children in the same country who are literally starving.

They could just go and have a vow renewal, even in a beautiful location, with the dress, and it wont cost $5k. The party is not the important part, ad that's what they're trying to re-create.
