Would you go on your honeymoon with another couple?

AlmostMrsT, on March 26, 2015 at 10:21 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 32

Our favorite couple-friends are planning their honeymoon for a similar destination and time of year. It came up in conversation recently, and our first thought was, would it be crazy to go together as a group of 4? Of course we would respect each other's privacy and plan for group excursions, girls beach time, as well as private dinners. Has anyone done something like this? Any positives or negatives from your experience?

Hmmm, I wouldn't purposely invite another couple but if happened to just work out, that could be fun! Assuming you still get a lot of private time Smiley winking

No way. But then again, we're not that close to another couple.

I have friends who did that, and they loved it. I personally would not want to do that though. I want it to be just me and FH.

I wouldn't, personally. That was our chance of a lifetime to have a private vacation, and it was wonderful to not see anyone we knew for a whole week. Not that we don't love the people we know, but it is a whole different experience to have each other all to ourselves.

I don't think I would go on regular vacation with another couple so I'm going to say no on the honeymoon as well.

I don't think it would bother me....a honeymoon is nothing more than a vacation anyway. But it depends on how you normally travel...we normally vacation with other people and friends, so this is the first trip we will have taken together alone so I would rather it be just us. But had we had gone on more trips without others, then I think I would be less bothered.

Especially if you guys are planning excursions and dinners without the other couple, sounds like you may just run into them around the pool or the beach.

I would go on a vacation with another couple, like my sister and brother in law. They're the only people we can spend that long with without wanting to kill someone but on a honeymoon... no way.

Friends of mine did this - they absolutely regretted it. They started out on a cruise because it was cheaper to get a rate for 4 instead of a rate for two couples. Their rooms were next door to each other and the walls were paper thin. They then stayed at a resort in Mexico and got rooms where there is a door between each suite. One couple kept using the connecting door to access the balcony the other couple had (their room was on a corner so they had a "better view"). There was no privacy and they felt like they had to do everything with each other instead of the couples doing separate things.

Our wedding is a DW and we are telling anyone that wants to go to the area we are going to for our honeymoon, they are welcome. We know we will be planning another vacation and we get a lot of together time so it is fine and we will still find alone time on the honeymoon. I think it is personal preference.

I would so do this with my MOH and BM. Probably not anyone else though. We vacation with them regularly. Even when we've shared a cabin before we're always mindful of each others space and privacy.

    Hell. No.

We don't even like going on regular vacations with other people. The more opinions there are, the more drama there is.

This website is a perfect example of that Smiley smile

Maybe you can over lap a little bit? If you are doing 2 weeks maybe have one of the weeks overlap that way you can still hang together and then still have a week of bliss. I would do that but definitely not spend the ENTIRE time with them.

I wouldn't mind it if some friends happened to be at the same resort. i would want to do my own thing most of the time though. and i wouldn't want to have to deal with splitting cost of things with them if we went on trips and things while there.

i think it would have to be an all inclusive type deal for it to work for me.
